My new Westfield SE Zetec module build

I have messaged WSC to try and get some more sheathing as I’ve run out!
Do I need it for the fuel pipes also later on? Next job is them when I flip the chassis 😀

Oh and one other thing, Iam sure I read somewhere, this main chassis earth cable - someone said your better off going to the brake union bolt by the master cylinder? What have others done?

Thanks

Hello all, after much debate and almost purchasing a built car this week, through fate and slight impulse whist sat in the North Sea (Working) I thought sod it, Iam 40 next year. Let’s bite the bullet

Garage is pretty much prepared. Tried Dads car in there for size. Roll on Oct7th...

My lad made me a replacement brake pipe last night. Handy having an apprentice mechanic on hand!

Don’t know if it’s unique to the 250 chassis, but I have a dedicated earth stud on the nearside diagonal just in front of the end of the footwell (nylock nut just visible below pipe elbow, to the left of the fuel press reg).

I bought a few metres of various dia split flexible conduit to cover virtually all my loom from eBay. Didn’t think to ask WF! Not expensive though.

Thanks so glad I asked now! Plus I’ve looked at that stud almost every time I’ve been doing stuff wondering why there was one both sides! Perfect fit cheers

From your experiences If I fit this plastic panel now will I later regret it  access wise? My main loom is in place. I would like to cover the foot wells with the heat foil before I go much further.

the tunnels and scuttle will stay off a bit longer...

Well a productive day today. Cheers 🍻

Floor pans in. Passenger footwell small side panel in, handbrake fitted, pedals completed.

loom saddles all drilled and Iam fairly happy with the main loom. I tried to space the saddles no further than 100mm apart. There were some tricky holes to drill! Even the right angle drill struggled... now awaiting a bit more split conduit sheathing from WSC to finish it off at the back.
I have gone for sheathing everything on the loom for IVA.

Sure you have, based your “day job”, but just in case! Don’t forget to clean the powder coat off the chassis before fitting earth connection(s). Smear of Contralube or similar would be beneficial.

That “dark liquid” helps the build greatly IMHO 😉

With a couple of extra pairs of hands we turned the chassis over this morning ready to have a go at the hard fuel pipes/brake pipe and under sealing with Dinitrol 4941

Well that wasn’t a good start! Kinked the fuel pipe with this bl**** bending tool. No luck with these steel pipes!
WSC won’t post one which is understandable so I need to source something similar locally.... copper pipe?

looking for fuel pipe bending tips!?....

The under seal is nice and touch dry. That goes on lovely! Lots of masking up required.

The second fuel pipe went perfectly! A bad workman blames his tools.... 😂 Now Iam used to the bending tool I feel more confident with it. I’d strongly suggest getting some material to practice on if your a beginner like me.

Iam thinking now I have to collect Module 3 at some point so I could get the second fuel pipe from WSC then. If I drill the holes and take the measurements for bending it now, it shouldn’t be to difficult to fit later on whilst on axle stands would it?

Iam happy with the fuel pipe now. I can hold it in place with Clecos and then rivit it at a later date when I get the new pipe 😀

just doing the brake pipe now. Any chance of seeing the route other people took when you drop down from the chassis floor level (upside down chassis) to the brake union
