Cheers guys, luckily my dad is building a shed and had plenty of long lengths of box section steel so I’ll borrow some of that 👍🏻 I’ll set the toe in and camber on the back when I drop it down onto 4 wheels hopefully next week.

Hi Guys   Well, I decided to place the order with Westfield for my MDV Starter kit on the 28th February 2020 which was due for collection on June 26th. However, due to the current situation

Got round to doing more work on the car today. I started with fitting the rear (right) upper wishbone and then the shock absorber. I intended on fitting the uprights and hubs but ran into a problem wh

Well I’d like to have thought I was well into the build by now but due to an increasing work and college load progress has been super slow. So, this update is just to share what parts I’ve been collec

Needed a week off the car to get my HNC work done as the list of to do jobs was ever increasing 😬

I received my brake hoses from HEL performance hoses and they are mint. I needed an overall length of 570mm with M10 fine male bulkhead fittings on one end and M10 male fittings at the other end.

The next job was to modify the diff back plate to accept an 8mm quick fitting for a breather. The first job was to remove the old rubber/plastic original breather. I did this by filing the rubber with a b******d file until it was flat with the casting, then try to drill it out with an 11mm drill. The drill should catch the rubber and the whole lot should just pull out.

Next was to set the radius arm drill up for drilling and tapping the hole. Using a 9mm drill to set the machine and find the centre of the hole. Once all the axis locks were tight and the centre was double checked, I swapped the 9mm drill for an 11.2mm drill (tapping size for 1/4” BSPT thread)

Once the hole was drilled 11.2mm through, I swapped the drill Chuck for the rotating centre so the tap and tap wrench will remain in line with the hole.

The thing with the BSPT taps and other tapered threads is to not tighten them too tight so the thread is too large for your purpose.

Test fitted the 8mm push in fitting and sealed it using some thread sealant. I’m going to wire brush and prep the diff casings before sending the diff off to have the Quaife ATB fitted.

I have next week off work so it’s front suspension time, then onto routing the wiring harness.

Cheers Russ 👍🏻 Fair while off yet 😂 you got that engine in and fired up yet? And how did you get on with the exhaust, did you get it sorted?

Exhaust is a work of art, highly recommend CSK. Ended up having a complete rewire and a new ECU so should have it back before Christmas (ideally before Oulton Park on 5th Dec)
