We were only doing emergency deliveries but as from tonight we are shutting four 4 weeks but probably another four. Staff are all being looked after very well!

Fully appreciate why they are shut and applaud the action as I understand it is because the employer cannot guarantee social distancing.
I work by myself selling hand made goods over the internet. There is therefore no reason to stop but I rely on materials delivered by - guess who - Travis Perkins.
Who is going to supply the businesses who are COVID 19 compliant with materials? Or does the whole country grind to a stop?

As far as self employment help, this  is for those directly affected by the restrictions. Technically I am not, as running out of raw materials is not in itself a result of the restrictions,

so help is not likely to be forthcoming.
I know it is selfish in this emergency but my family’s sole income is likely to dry up and there seems to be little I can do about it.

Rant over. Back to gardening now. I hate gardening.

I would say you will be covered. If your supplier stops supplying because of Covid you have had to stop because of those restrictions.

Can you get materials from anyone else? Jewsons are delivering to account customers only and others may offer a delivery service.

My daughter is self employed and she received the Gov. email last night.

There will be one branch in each sub region opening for account delivers for the moment but only for essential deliveries only as follows-

Following the announcement by the Government in relation to closing
non-essential services we are going to provide a very limited and
trade focused delivery model for essential businesses and services
that are needed to keep Britain's critical infrastructure working.  We
have outlined those that fall into this category based on Government
advice.

We can only deliver to the following sites and only for emergency
repair and maintenance works and waste services:
hospitals
doctors surgeries
central and local Government offices that are open for critical services
schools
prisons
emergency services facilities e.g. police stations
care / nursing homes
military facilities
border control facilities
railway and road network
certain retail premises: supermarkets and other food shops, health
shops, pharmacies including non- dispensing pharmacies, petrol
stations, bicycle shops, home and hardware shops, laundrettes and dry
cleaners, bicycle shops, garages, car rentals, pet shops, corner
shops, newsagents, post offices, and banks
hotels, hostels and BnBs (where people are staying as they have been
displaced from their homes)
foodbanks and homeless services
crematoria and cemeteries
food takeaway services
private dwellings / social housing
housing associations and local authorities specified drop off locations
electricity generation, distribution and supply
gas refining, distribution and supply
oil and fuel refining, distribution and supply
water supply and sewage removal and treatment
telecomms

Mine comes under 'private dwellings' but doesn't help when the supplier shuts so no deliveries anyway!

Horncastle Branch shut. No idea where the 'open' one is - do you?

Morning

Go to Travis Perkins website where you will see instructions to Email your local branch. We are all still contactable from home and can put you in touch with the nearest delivering branch.

Please remember we are shut for a good reason and that is following the government guidelines to protect our staff.
