Can someone really be PM if they cannot face up to a 30 minute televised political interrogation?

To answer my own question the answer is of course YES as on 24 July 2019 Boris did become PM following the Tory Leadership election and avoiding debating Jeremy Hunt on TV.

Really? Lets see... Over the last 3 years Boris has been Foreign Sec, lead the Leave campaign, got stabbed in the back by Gove, resigned as Foreign Sec, had to endure enormous scrutiny of everything he says (quite rightly) and still finds himself as PM. I doubt Andrew Neill is going to shake him loose.

Surely resolve, strength and independence is exactly what is needed when despite huge pressure to do something the individual doesn't actually buckle?

Yeah...a useless Foreign Secretary who managed to get an innocent British female citizen locked up in an Iranian jail for an extra five years and resigned from his job when he had no choice, then took weeks to move out of his grace and favour house afterwards.

Yeah... led a lying (£350m extra a week for NHS, which he admitted afterwards was not true) and immigration fear-mongering Leave campaign but only after changing his mind from being a Remainer just to shaft Cameron so he could try to become PM.  Shafted by Gove AFTER he shafted Cameron.

If Boris has proved anything, he’s top notch at running away from taking responsibility when things aren’t going his way, and he’s proved it over and over again.  Third runway at Heathrow.  Public appearances cancelled when critics appear.  No show at debates and for Andrew Neil.  The MP top of the list of outside interest earnings.  The man is a creeping doghearted foul adulterer and a self serving humbug of the first order.  He’s nothing more than a sound bite.  Even his brother quit as a fine MP over his actions and his sister wants nothing to do with him.

He does share something in common with all the other choices we have - they’re all unfit to lead this country.

One thing over the years I learnt is that all politicians lie. They claim not to but they all do and there has not been one world leader who has not done the same.

The problem this time around is that we are not comparing policies or direction, it is simple a popularity contest. Corbyn popular with everyone who wants everything for free paid by a few.

Swinson popular with remainers.

Boris popular with the majority of those left (excluding Scotland) And the reason we have got here is televised debates and the age of soundbites.

I have had some bosses in the past who when asked to make a speech or think on their feet were awful. Their skill was in pulling the right team around them with the skill set to get things done. They provide the grand plan and those in his team do the detail.

Elon Musk is a prime example, Electric car, started got bored others made it work, Meanwhile he was onto the next thing, battery wall, got bored, space X getting bored.

Johnson will make as good a PM as most others if not better. If anyone is looking for a person with no faults they are deluded that we will ever get one. Fidelity is a thing of the past.

Speaking with many low paid people even they think Corbyn will be bad for them. Many of these know if they implement their ill conceived manifesto their job will go, their pension, as almost everyone now has a work place pension, will suffer. I have never heard so much said against one man as Corbyn.

What the UK needs is a government with a majority, to get on with whatever is coming. Business will adapt what they need is a long term decision that they can deal with, not the situation we have now. And what we need just as bad is strong reasonable opposition, one who wants to work cross party to ring fence things like the NHS and long term care plans as 5 years is too short a time to do anything with those areas.

We will just have to disagree on most of those opinions, but politics requires a choice, abstain or vote.

Boris was in goal ahead of a football match between Hazel Grove Utd and Poynton Jr under 10s in the Cheshire Girls football league.

Boris Johnson appears to have been hit where it hurts today during a kickabout.   Careful now!

Highlights include:-  Boris seemed totally unfazed by the girls' shootout today;   Thankfully he did manage a few saves as well:   And Boris appeared to have Santa's vote too.

Great stuff.
