Mazda MX-5 1.8 Dakar - SOLD

Morning all,

Moving my MX-5 on to pastures new. It's been a top car, just I need something I can get a mountain bike in! Car came from @BCF and appears to have been through another WSCC member in the past too!

Brief details:

- 'Dakar' limited edition (dark blue), with 15" alloys and all four tyres being Avon ZV7 with good tread. Standard black leather seats (bit tatty but fine).

- MOT til August, had sills and and another few bits of rust done for latest MOT, good to go for a few years now

- Fresh oil change this month with full synth 5w40 (better for the hydraulic lifters in cold weather than the 10w40 standard grade)

- Approx 131k miles

- P reg / 1998

- 1.8 engine, 5 speed box, uses no oil, no funny noises, pulls well

- Mongoose stainless exhaust and cone filter

- Windblocker and cabin brace

- Upgraded speakers and CD head unit

- New battery just over a year ago

- Recent roof in a sort of burgundy colour, leak-free, also recent brake overhaul with new pads and discs

- P942 SKX if you want to check MOT history

- Bad bits: the odd bodywork mark, heater controls only blow full beans (have replacement resistor ready to go in), paint on wheels not in great condition, would generally benefit from a tarting up to make it pristine again if that's your bag

5/12/19: SOLD!

I've tried to show all the usual MX-5 problem areas, blemishes and 'niggles' in the photos, so there's no surprises on viewing :t-up:

I'd love to keep it as a spare too, but needs must. Pics added and a new price - which I think reflects very good value? If not someone feel free to make me a sensible offer! I would really love for the car to stay within the WSCC :t-up:

That is pretty much exactly what I was looking for a year ago... doh! Need more space on the drive now... anyone want an RX-8? C1? Or have a flat pack multi storey car park?

Love that, looks perfect and not ruined like a lot out there.

Thanks Dommo! I'd have probably done a deal with your C1 actually, but have just bought a Micra.

I think that's been the 'mantra' for the car through its life really, I know Barny was keen not to ruin it :t-up: It's an amazing b-road blaster with the standard suspension :d

It even came with 3 of its original tyres and a free indoor swimming pool 😆

You'll soon get used to every one saying hello and giving them a warm Micra wave :praise:

You'll also get used to the interior temperature given the Micra climate :sun:

The running costs will be low due to the Micra economy.

I've run out of Micra puns now......you'll be please to hear..:getmecoat:

Good reliable little cars. They were everywhere once upon a time. Now quite a rare sight on the roads.

Looks like a Michaela to me. :)

There's tons up here now I've started looking out for them  I think I'm going to stick with the animal theme and go for The Ladybird.

MX-5 sold to @Simon_Jones, who is one of the previous owners. This makes me really happy! :t-up::t-up: Look forward to meeting you soon Simon.
