Unfortunately I can't make today. I've a house full of fair weather kids who don't know mornings exist at the weekend despite the lure of cakes and hotdogs!

Hopefully I'll be running up to Garage 39 at Donington tomorrow if anyone's about.

I love the Cobra by the way! Reminds me I must do the lottery tonight 😂

@Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO I let you get there first so that I could park next to the Cobra, only I am fed up with parking next to the scruffy Westfield's 😛

We met at McD's, Dave, Ian and us in the Westfield's and Andy and Robin in the Cobra. Andrew and Clare, Martyn and Sue, Marcus and Nakkib, Scott and Charlie arrived in these strange vehicular things with sort of like tin roofs. Bill and Sarah came in the Porsche. I was nearly gassed when the Cobra fired up, I was parked next to it with no doors on and sat at exhaust level, cough, cough.

When we arrived at GBS Scott was first to get cake, it is 10am at this point btw.

We parked up, plenty of space today.

Glen and I headed for the German Sausage Man, red or white Bratwurst with currywurst sauce and fresh cobs.

Andrew introduced me to Ian, who promptly presented me with a lovely WSCC key ring, thank you Ian.

We were also joined by Barry, Steve, Des, Debs and Barnsley John too, as he had been allowed out of the nursing home for the afternoon 😀

Michael and Martin from the Burton Car Club came in the Furrari.

@6carjon Dave kept up with the Cheshire tradition and wore his shorts, it's December and it was dark when he set off this morning, he is also at an outdoor bbq all day, mad. Me? I got me thermal leggings on under my jeans, and 5 layers on top.

The sun shone and all 24 of us had a nice relaxed social gathering, eat drink and be merry. The hubby had gluhwein in the mug and a German bier, 2 hands only 1 mouth or something like that

Still no Zero's came, only factory one's on show and the odd one or two.

Gradually everyone started to disappear.

Marcus and Nakkib ready to go

Andrew and Clare, Martyn and Sue joined us for a catch up back at McD's (sat down, warm, aahhh) before wishing each other Merry Christmas and departing. It's been great to see everyone, the driving and the views have been absolutley rubbish, but it's the people that make it xxxxxx

We were milling around getting ready to go.....

when this Audi parked next to me. It was a bit nice, over £50K of 4 wheel drive, 400 bhp coolness. I sat in it of course, well the seat was warm and I was starting to get cold, that's my excuse and I am sticking with it. The owner had about 5 other cars, VW's, as you do.

The owner of the Furrari said he changed his tyres to the Rainsport 3 and nearly wrote the car off. He went into a corner expecting to slide, like with his other tyres, but instead the car went where he pointed it with these tyres on, so he nearly ended up in a ditch.

He and the guy's with him, who were Caterham owners, were very interested in the PS3's on Ian's car. Those discs are not ceramic and the caliper is just a tin cover on the Ferrari.

In addition to @Julie Hall - Peak District AO's great write up as usual above, some of us set off slightly earlier!

Playing 'musical cars' to get the Westie out, whilst the family is in bed.

I'd arranged to meet @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary at Hulme End at 8:00. We used Whatsapp as usual to sychronise our arrival. One of us doesn't have a heater and hence would rather keep moving. As I could see Dave's progress, I'm able to adjust my speed to meet his ETA.

image.png.81c568317a1414d9ed7dd221cf6b76ec.png

Given we don't normally enjoy the roads to GBS. I'd picked a different route through the Peaks. The roads we're rather damp.

I smiled as I refuel approx 5 miles from home as I could see that Dave looked to be doing similar in Leek. You can't get much more synchronised than that!

The roads were quiet given it was early.

As I made the finally right turn for the long straight to Hulme End, I spied Dave's solar canon headlights in my mirrors a good way back. Perfect timing as ever.

We met briefly to get head sets set up and I swapped my googles for shades.

We then drove through Darley Dale and Chesterfield arriving a McD near to GBS before Julie as you'll have seen above to be met by Robin and Andy R.

Andy R's new tou looked and sounded great on the short run to GBS

image.png.72e7953bf36628eb877004dbb611f421.png

We were well fed and watered at GBS as always:

image.png.a3b49d0a155206314e5228583c482eb8.png

Dave and I travelled home in convoy in reverse to the journey there. The skies were getting darker but I got home dry.

Note, the journey home didn't need gloves either!

image.png.f2d57c31778c4d090721690d3a064af2.png

I've just clicked over onto 17,000 miles.

image.png.2ba6f26e630eb1bbc29d7c3cf02a2043.png

Not bad for a 4 year old aero screened, heater less car! I clearly don't need the battle of the Odo's to encourage me to use mine

Thank you everyone for another enjoyable trip out ... even with all the abuse my car was getting I had a great time 😂

And sorry to @Julie Hall - Peak District AO for poisoning you with the Cobra's fumes 😉

@marcusb ... I saw you as you went past the Morrison's in Wakefield (about 14:15). I beeped my horn a few times but you didn't appear to notice 😞 🙂
