Hi can somebody Id these for me please? I have just changed the discs and pads but it seems as thought the callipers are binding, I got the discs and green stuff pads for a cortina mk4 but when I look for m16 callipers they are for a escort 1&2,, just after advice before I order the wrong ones!

Thanks

I think escort MK1/2, cortina and capri used M16 calipers. Those calipers are the same as mine, they've got type 16 stamped on them.

It’s a Westfield upright which has mounting spacing for M16 calipers or an equivalent, so I wouldn’t have though they’d be Sierra without some modification.

M16’s were used on a lot of Fords, Escorts, Capris, Cortinas etc.

Discovery calipers we’re used for a bit in the mid 2000’s, but the ones on my other car don’t look like that! I would guess they’re just a pattern copy M16. But if in doubt, pull a brake pad out and use one of the on line pad comparison catalogues to check its an M16 shape.

As others have said they look like M16 calipers. If you go onto the web below and use in the search, Ford, Cortina mk4 or 5, then friction it will give a part number. Click on that and it will bring up a picture with all the measurements on it for you to look at.

If the pads are correct check that they are not tight on the flat area where they sit. Some pads need a file across the edge as the paint finish can be too thick. Also not sure what grease you have used but I always use copperslip which is high temp melting point.
