AdamR
Morning all, I'm looking at doing some car shuffling, and wondering if I'm missing something obvious... Currently bobbing about in a Mk1 MX-5, but looking to change my daily to something a bit nicer. Criteria: RWD, preferably N/A, manual or DECENT paddle shift system (eg. PDK), roof comes up and down easily, not daft running costs, better as a road car than a track car but will probably do the odd track day, comfy enough for longer trips but not a big fat heifer of a bus. Doesn't have to be mega fast. Not toooo bothered about depreciation or 'investment value' as long as I really enjoy it, but equally don't fancy a 17 plate car or something that needs a service every time it goes out. Do not want an Elise as I had one before and it was turd. Feel like I've done MX5s to death having had about half a dozen. Shortlist at the moment includes various Porsches including Boxster (but I get really lost with all the variations!)... and that's about where I've drawn a blank. Budget... Say £50k, but unlikely to spend right up to that amount unless it's something pretty sweet. Any thoughts aprpeciated! Adam
TAFKARM
RWD? Tick N/A? Tick Decent paddle shift? Tick Covertible? Kind of tick Basically, you should be running the Lobster as a daily. My initial thought was S2000. I often hark back to the glory days when I had a nearly new 04 plate without a care in the world. Women would instinctively flock to me like the salmon of Capistrano. Only one person ever shouted "W****er!" at me as I drove down the road. Then I remember, a good mate bought an 04 plate in 2013. I hated it, it was a noisy, uncomfortable and annoying in every way. So in conclusion, get the new Supra, or a Z4 if you want people to shout "W****er!" at you as you drive through Bamber Bridge.
Rhett Turner - Black Country AO
You don’t mention number of seats, if it’s ok to be more than two what about a 2 or 4 series BMW. Or if RWD is negotiable, Mini roadster, wife has one and it’s a great little car
Steve (sdh2903)
N/A will be the hard one on newish cars. I'd go for the last of the NA boxsters. Edit 981 boxster s. 3.4 with a manual box.

geoffd
How about and Aston Martin V8 Vantage? Your £50k would stretch to that, probably for a 2009 model. They seem to be mechanically robust, the people I know who have them love them. There are independent specialists who can service them so you are not dependent on main dealers. The main problem seems to be wanting to upgrade to a V12 after a while. Geoff
