Ahem, I am listening! and yes, the weather looks grotty for tomorrow, so it maybe an outing for the MX5, we shall see what it is like in the morning. There is not exactly a run out as such after all.

Good luck to @IanK (Bagpuss) and hopefully you won't be as exhausted as @BillyPee, I'll get me coat 😃

Thanks coming everyone. It was very soggy and well done to Andrew and Clare for coming in their Westfield. Martyn and Sue, John and Jacky, Des and Debs, Barry and Andrew, and Chris all had a good look around a very quiet GBS. The Mk2 Escort shell was on show and there was an example of the engine in a Zero. Afterwards Barry and Andrew ran off to the chippy while the rest of us went to Thaymar Ice Cream Farm for lunch.

I am very sorry but I am without a laptop at the moment as mine has died, I am borrowing a neighbours laptop and for the life of me I cannot access my photo's. When I can get at them I will post them up, but other people might put a few on.

Excellent company and garbage weather xxx

Lovely day out and a good spread by GBS. Shame about the weather but it brings another dimension to driving a Westfield. On the positive, at least there was car parking space this time! Just need a careful right foot and a drying room when you get home. Luckily for us, right foot was well behaved and we have an AGA so quickly dried up. Severe lack of photos as we rely on Julie, so here is the one I have. Should have taken a photo of that AC as it was fantastic.

Great company and fun. Thanks all.

Well that was fun, setting up a new laptop, not my idea of a nice Sunday evening but it gets me to here.

We met at McDonalds, a very soggy McDonalds, but it was warm and friendly inside once everyone had turned up

After Martyn2breakfasts 😀 finally finished eating, we went to a very quiet GBS and made straight for the Escort

Nice interior, you would feel safe in that

I asked for the bonnet to be opened, but disappointingly the bay was empty

An example of the engine was in an adjacent Zero. It is a 2.5 litre Duratec which are normally found in heavy vehicles, they are imported from Mexico, it has their own design water rail (no expansion bottle) and their own design throttle bodies. The ECU is either Emerald or Life.

An overview of the factory area, Escort on the left and the Zero containing the engine on the right. I feel very uncomfortable calling it an Escort, it would be like calling my car a Lotus 7.

Outside Andrew and Clare were looking very lonely in the car park

Next, we went to the Thaymar Ice Cream Farm for a hearty lunch and ice cream of course. I was highly delighted when they got my order wrong and fetched me an extra ice cream. Here is a tip, order a Rocky Road and a Raspberry Ripple so the waitress writes it down as 1xRR, 1xRR, you will get a double raspberry ripple and they will bring you an extra rocky road. It was lovely.

Exhaust fitted and manifold gaskets tested successfully (in the Manifold Valley of all places)!

A replica is on PistonHeads at the mo for £100k. This is the ‘real thing’ at an approx value of £500k. The chassis is original and the bodywork is made using the original as formers. The customer has the original bodywork stored. New Duratec 2.5ltr turbo plus running gear. Owner is going to drive it and not hide it away. Fantastic workmanship with Ali covered ash frame. Wire wheels etc. After test drive all coming apart again for painting. Oh to have the spare cash.....
