Another one finished today. A simple build this time, straight out of the box. A 1/32nd scale Opel GT.

Long time since I did any modelling, but spent a couple of hours in the loft today. Carried on with a Lotus 72 I started over 6 years ago. Got quite a lot of the decals on.

That takes me back to being a small boy at Christmas getting my first scalextric kit .

That JPS car was my pride and joy ,probably my first step on the petrolhead ladder .

Wow, really takes me back seeing the Micro Set, Micro Sol in the background. (Used to do a lot of model building in my teens, discovering those products, for decaling  was an absolute revelation at the time, along with applying decals on to gloss varnished surfaces, followed by a top coat of gloss, mat, semi-gloss etc, depending on desired finish - which made the backing film virtually “disappear” on the transfers.

Lovely model, built with a lot of skill, and a lovely trip down memory lane, to watch. (Reminds me of the series of Tamiya 12th scale F1 cars I did).

The Lotus 72 is now finished after 6 and a half years. What next?

Are you building another Westfield (from a Caterham kit)? And how big will this be relative to your others??

Your attic looks like a very safe place to be! Have fun...

It's 1/32nd scale, the same as the scalextric one.

I'm also building this, birthday present from my son.

Ahh the memories 😁 I had a full size one of those, loved it - felt so fast back in the day!

(only sold it because I got so fed up of the attempted TWOC-ing every week)

I've been doing quite a bit to the Land Rover over the past few days, so thought it was time to share them here.
