CraigHew Posted February 6, 2019 Share Posted February 6, 2019 I snapped a head bolt on my Ducati many years ago, had less than that sticking out. Copious amounts of penetrating oil, then tried mole grips: nothing moved. Finally filed two opposing flats onto the shank and managed to get a spanner to turn and free it. DamperMan Posted February 6, 2019 Share Posted February 6, 2019 Turbo bolts on my campervan... ground those flat, center punched, drilled out dead straight and central (total fluke 3 times!) to almost route of thread then managed to cave in the stud and peel the remaining sliver of thread out.
