well. this is my daily. I think we share engine...

to be honest, this is by far the best engine I've ever had. 42mpg on motorway cruises... and 28mpg on town driving. I just love it.

For anyone on a tighter budget, I can't recommend one of these enough.

Lexus Is200 sportcross. I didn't even know they did an estate version until I found this one.  It's not remarkably powerful, but the 2 litre straight six sounds bl**** brilliant and pulls nicely when it's pushed.

The car has been brilliantly reliable too (other than when I mess with things I shouldn't mess with).

Heated seats, sun roof, great sound system etc. and the practicality of an estate.  For about £1k, I don't think you can get much more car than one of these.  Also conveniently, if you don't like the stock alloys, rx8 ones happen to be the right stud pattern and offset to slot right on!

@Skypeller The Diff was about a grand and a half fitted. Unfortunately it's not something you can do yourself unless you've got your own machine shop, as the crownwheel needs machining off to attach to the new ATB.

and a CX5 which is about to be replaced by another (great spec for the money)D78EAD6E-3029-4DDA-B790-511A0780C0D8.thumb.jpeg.bf79e4e72edbf326b70608b82d3010cc.jpeg

Thanks :) Our ‘forever home’, we fell in love with it,  though I wasn’t quite prepared for the running costs!

Thanks a lot... I felt soooo lame until I read your post !

(but your ride is still a lightyear nicer than the battle scarred oil burner I use to carry the family)

Can't go wrong with an MX-5! A Mk3 with a remap and a set of cams is a cracking daily driver, had one for a few years. Now back in a Mk1:

Other RWD, roofless, non-turbo cars also suitable ;)

I prefer your other daily driver @AdamR Looking forward to another blast in Fezza:d

Hardly exciting but very practical, and very nice to commute in.

320d.   184 bhp 0-60 7.7 topspeed 144.    Good points.

Swmbo likes it.  It drives nice. Red is sporty.   Mpg is 55+.  Diesel Knock and vibration less.   Toys. Good DAB radio(no degree needed to use it).   Devalued to under 1/3rd of its new price in 2.5 years and 40k miles making it feel a bargain to me.

Bad

Expensive run flats!  Just paid £250 for a pair!  My Old Seat  Altea i’d Get a set for that..

should of bought an auto, the manual 6 speed isn’t particularly nice.    There is an known issue with the F30 electric racks bmw first said it’s fine.   Then it was out of warentee..   but on the last free inclusive service at 60k they did a service update on the rack and now it’s good..
