Anyone advise me on forms needed to reinstate my cat C, C1 or C1E status on my driving licence. When I got to 70 I did have a medical and therefore did not keep these categories. I could now do with getting them back buy its not easy to find out from DVLA what I need to do

Any help appreciated

Your new licence will have had the categories reduced to limit vehicle to 3500kgs rather than what you had before Martin

My new license has reduced categories. Passed my bike test on a Honda 90 step thru and I can still ride unlimited capacity bikes. Assuming I could get on one, that is.

As for 70, there aren’t that many fast roads nowadays. :)

You want to start truck racing now:)?

I did have a look on the DVLA sometime ago on how to reactivate my truck licences and all says is, apply by writing to-

Drivers Customer Services
Correspondence Team
D12
DVLA
Swansea
SA6 7JL

same address for over 70’s re-licensing queries.

I seem to recall the process was that if you renewed online you had to accept reduced entitlements, but if you went the paper route it was possible to replicate your existing entitlements in full. I did not go with the second option so I don't know what happens next, sorry. It's all so long ago...

I think I need to fill in Form D2 and D4

D4 is downloadable but you can only get D2 from major post office or have it posted from DVLA which takes 7 days!!!!!
