Fancy this for my first Clan McWesty.

What time would you be expecting to be at Fennels?

I would only be going if the weather is ok tho but would like a run out with another westy

Hi Gary,

I'm in the area that weekend so may join you for breakfast, but not the run. I won't be in the Westfield, but I'll still be in a V8 :d

Cheers,

Brian

We left early o’clock filled up and off to tomintoul to meet David ,then over the lecht and through strathdon to Alford and cross country to fennels at inverurie here we met Brian who had travelled up from the borders and popped over to have breakfast with us , Steve in his lovely caged, aero megablade was already there, unfortunately we had a couple of call offs as well.

there was some quite nice  nd varied machinery there too aero 8, Porsche’s , Ferrari, a works Audi Quattro who said i get 400 miles on a set of tyres !!!!!!! And the cutest Alfa junior you have seen.

so breakfast was consumed and the world put to rights, Steve decided that he would head for Home as he was still sorting a few issues on his car so David, Trina and myself headed out round strathdon in glorious weather before stopping at corgarf for tea and cake. As we pulled in there’s another westy sitting thre , so we chatted to the couple who had it enthused over the benefits of the club and shared a few ideas and stories, hopefully they will join up .

then out and back over the lecht to tomintoul where we said goodbye to David and headed back down the glen home, as we got home we met blue and Maggie who had popped out for some gin in their caterham so again stopped and chatted before heading round the corner home

all in all a cracking day with good compan and good roads, to those who couldn’t make it maybe next time

I remember when those rally Quattros first appeared on the scene, amidst the Escorts and Asconas they looked like space ships from the future, bristling with high tech!

They still look great, to me, but how funny to see them with (now) tiny wheels, and odd overhangs, still not much to beat the sound of them crackling through the Forrest’s, in that funny off beat, five cylinder way.
