Westfield SEiW MX5 Turbo, 335bhp Big Spec - SOLD

Now that my Cobra Replica build is back in full swing I have been reviewing how I will use my Hobby cars in the future, and it is clear that the Cobra will become the weekend/summer evening road car. This means the Westfield will pretty much be demoted to a track car, and frankly it is too good to just sit in the garage waiting to be used a handful of times a year. So it is time to give it a new home.

The car was built in 2011/12 by me and registered in April 2012 after a first time IVA Pass, and has been developed ever since into an extremely powerful track focused road legal car that is very capable in the right hands. It has much more power than an S2000 or Sport 250 Westfield.

The spec is as follows:-

Exterior/Bodywork

Standard ZK Body with fixed rear arches
V8 Bonnet
Carbon boot cover (hinged and lockable)
Reduced boot box
Carbon sill kick strips
Carbon rear arch protectors
Mirrors with incorporated Led indicators
Caged Full cage with certification, Longacre mirror
LED Rear Lights
LED cycle wing repeaters
Dominator Headlights and Daylight Running LED’s
Carbon fibre half doors (removable)
Carbon fibre double bubble aeroscreen
Carbon fibre repackablr exhaust silencer
Carbon fibre front splitter
Carbon fibre rear diffuser
Carbon fibre removable side panels allowing great access to engine bay
Bighead fastened cycle wings

Interior
Black GRP race seats
Titon 4 point harnesses with Aero buckles
Carbon dashboard
LED Oil Pressure and Boost Gauges
Koso RX2N+ Digidash (waterproof)
Low Oil Pressure Warning light
Carbon tunnel
Carbon rear bulkhead panel
Suede steering wheel on quick release boss
Self Cancelling Indicators
LED Colour changing Dip/Main Beam Toggle switch and Rotary VW Headlight switch
12V Power outlet and double USB power outlet
Clutch and brake pedal stops
Lowered Floors

Mechanical/Running Gear
1839cc Mazda MX5 Mark 2 Engine – 48k donor engine that has been fully stripped and rebuilt with Forged Rods, practically bulletproof
Megasquirt PnP ECU
IHI VF28 Turbo
276BHP at the wheels; 335BHP at the Flywheel; Approx 550bhp/Ton
Loads of Torque 275FtLb at the wheels, 330FtLb at the Flywheel
Switchable Maps via Boost button on dashboard – See rolling road graph Red lines give a more linear power delivery, green lines give a more turbo shove in the back feel. Remember the number shown on the Rolling road graph are taken at the wheels, not the flywheel
Swirl Pot located in bootbox area
Mazda MX5 5 Speed Gearbox
Rainbow painted camcover
Protech shocks/springs all round
MX5 Hubs/Uprights
MX5 Brakes (capable of stopping the car easily)
Flyin Miata Stage 1 Clutch (nice and light on the pedal)
Lightened flywheel
Radtec Turbo Radiator/Intercooler
Carbon fibre ducting in front of radiator
15” Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels in Satin Graphite with Lightweight Wheel nuts
205 Toyo R888R tyres on rear (loads of tread left)
195 Toyo R88R tyres on front (loads of tread left)
Mazda 3.6 LSD
13 Row Remote Oil Cooler
800cc Injectors
Alloy Fabrications Expansion Tank
Shortened MX5 Sump with Additional “Maruha” Style Baffling
Odyssey PC680 Battery

Full Geo Set up done by Northampton Motorsport after it was built

The exhaust has been sound tested at various venues and always comes back at 93/94 decibels since the car was turbo’ed, so you can get on any track with it

MOT’d on 28 April 2018 with no advisories. Oil and filter change on same date. Just under 10,000 miles (less than a 1,000 miles on the turbo’ed engine)

The car was recently featured in Complete Kit Car Magazine over two issues.

This is a well sorted car that is perfectly happy pootling around town or country lanes. Press the loud pedal and it flies. On track there is not much that can stick with it.

Various spares that could be taken as well for a negotiated price:-
Fully rebuilt Mk2 MX5 1.8 engine with standard internals
MX5 4.1 open diff
MX5 5 speed gearbox
MX5 Brake Calipers
MX5 Hubs/uprights
MX5 Sumps
MX5 Mk2 MX5 wiring loom
And much more that I cannot remember!

Personal Reg Number will be removed prior to completion of sale

The difficult thing is price. This is a lot of car and I think £????? is a fair reflection.

He joined the club so maybe he will see the advert. At that point though I had not decided to sell!
