Once you remove the torx screw it just slides out, then you can see the number clearly.

hi, i have a 2013 blacktop purchased from westfield i always use 2001 focus 2.0 at my

local autospares shop never let me down yet

Stamped into the side where it meets the bell housing just above this appear to be BP 09 12  does that mean anything

 

Is there a 3 digit code just above that? What you've listed sounds like it could be the engine serial number. The 3 digit code should identify the engine type. No.1 on this image.

Most crate engines do not have the usual numbers stamped on them so you can’t use that to id the year.  Many have no numbers at all. Perfectly normal.
