Brackets look good, that’s my next job. Have you fitted the front spats yet?

Not yet. Put the brackets in place so I can spend some time fitting the spats

Now that I'm getting close to finishing ii thought I'd remind myself of some of the tools I purchased (without telling the better half).

Enjoyed the grinder, rivet nut tool and torque wrench.

Bolt extractor was a 'thank $%=k for that' moment.

Haven't shown the extra nuts and bolts I've purchased.

Put the spats into position with the grips. Then put the bracket into position using another grip. Marked the position of the holes. Agonized for days for best way to do it ... I'll let you know if it worked when the spats are on but I'm not going to get a chance for weeks to do the spats.

Good luck. I'm just trying the drivers spat and my efforts are looking promising. Will get some fibre glass over the weekend in readiness

I suggest that you replace the dome head bolts with countersunk as that bracket rubs directly on the top chassis rail - have look at some FW cars at Stoneleigh and you’ll see what I mean.

Spats fitted. Fibre glassed in two big head studs to each spat. Measured where the holes need to go into the bonnet ... drivers side happy but passengers not so much

List of jobs to do this Sunday

  • Tighten headlights and align as best as I can
  • Connect headlights wiring and test ... anyone got any recommendations where I tie the cables from the bonnet to the wiring loom?
  • place rubber around front wings
  • check caps are on nuts and bolts (from suspension)
  • book into local garage to do a 'once over' to make sure its road worthy ... anyone know about the legislation around me doing this?
    • headlights aligned
    • wheels aligned
    • etc
  • buy some petrol :d
  • Look into booking into IVA test and the checks I need to do

Just about there then, well done. Yoo may wish to consider moving IVA application to the top of your list. You can do the rest whilst you're waiting for a date ;)
