Good turnout last night including a few new faces. Sorry not to see @6carjon, @BillyPee or @1960dave

The evening was even more special as several of us got to take a Tesla Model X P90D for a run in Ludicrous mode and it is!

Even @6carjon may have had to work hard to keep up with it! Shame the nice Tesla sales man had come along to talk to the Ferarri club who we share the carpark with on Summer nights. They didn't seem to interested. We kept him busy though!

Very cool - my son keeps looking in the Showroom window when we are in Knutsford and asking when we can have one.

I keep trying to explain it costs quite a lot of money.....

Never been in one so sad to have missed this

Yes sorry couldn't make it, see you soon.

Felt insanely quick for such a big car and lots of fun toys to destract you from the inevitable boredom that would set in driving one. Sadly, also probably a fair glimpse of the future.

Mind you, find a way to inject soul/charisma into one and it would be devastating! (Though ugly as sin!)

...the thing is, apart from having settings like "ludicrous" mode(!)

:d

But the more I think about it, the more so many of the other incredibly advanced and impressive functions from the on-board electronics are essentially designed to avoid the meat sack behind the wheel having to do any driving!

We've come along way from cruise control.

Agree, impressive but as I said before, battery life being what it is, just how much will a 4 year Tesla be worth? My iPhone tends to have battery problems after 3 to 4 years.... all that ludicrous mode would kill it by 4!!

I'd go as far as to say it was "ludicrous" not insane!

Bet @IanK is now thinking forward to winter upgrades and converting to a Megawatt!

It's a very brave:

Warranty

  • 8 year, infinite mile battery and drive unit warranty
  • 4 year, 50,000 mile limited warranty
