We are often put into Sports Libre by organising clubs. Borough 19 is one!

I've queried this before. The event organisers amalgamate two categories (modified specialist production and Sports Libre) into one class that they call sports libre. The car only has to adhere to the regs for the catagory that it fits into (which should be on the logbook). It's the complication of classes and categories again!

As far as I know (and my Logbook verifies this) there is nowhere on the Logbook to put what class a car complies with

Our logbook clearly states modified production on it. It says the Category not the class.

My 2008 Logbook does not have a Category or class shown anywhere

My New Log Book contains the MSA Blue Book Category of Car

For Rockingham Modified Kit and Replica cars are in Class 14 Sports Libre S14 Regs, Whereas Modified Production Saloon and Sports Cars are in Classes 8 to 10 S12 Regs

I did challenge Noreen Ward on this and she said that was how it was going to be!

I guess it depends on whether a Westfield is considered as a Modified Kit or a Modified Production Sports Car

In the Road Going section Kit Type and Replica Cars have separate classes 5 to 7

I do not know why Modified Kit and Replica Cars did not have a separate classes also but I will try to find out at the event!

Nick Algar has emailed Noreen for an explanation including on whether bets would need to be in date if we are pushed into Sports Libre classes

Remember all the guys using 1C tyres will need to go into those classes

With all these rule changes affecting eligibility for classes (HANS, 5 point belts, logbooks, dated seats, dated belts etc) what we need to sort out, like many championships, is Westfield class(es) at events. If this isn't done people are just going to miss those that don't have them and go to ones that do. It's in the organising clubs interest to sort this now or not get the numbers of entries and suffer.

Let's hope Nick gets a suitable answer quickly. Closing date is Saturday and I'm not travelling if there is any doubt so need to pull entry.

I have chased for a quick answer saying how people will be pulling out / are not entering.

Their class structure doesn't make sense. No Mod Prod class for WSCC competitors is just not on. I hadn't realised this when this event went on the calendar.

Hi All,

I have just had this answer back from BARC

Hi Nick,

Just spoken to the MSA and have agreed with them that an amendment can be put in the Finals and all competitors will have to sign to say that they agree with the statement, which is:

Amendment to Supplementary Regulations:

Amendment to Page 3 Delete reference in brackets (Modified Production Saloon and Sports Cars)

Also I am always lenient with the closing date.  Will extend to

Wednesday 9th.

Regards

Noreen

Shame that you have had to pull out Matt and I understand that Andy Hargreaves has pulled out as well
