Cheshire run to the Yorkshire 8, Sunday 26th May

Martin, the Yorkshire AO has kindly invited us to join them on the "Yorkshire 8" tour this weekend.

We will head for the Strines Inn stop at 11.15 am, where we'll meet up with the Yorkshire crew plus Norman, who's over from France at the moment.

We'll then join the tour as it loops down through Bakewell, eventually coming back round to Buxton and heading North again.

To get to the Strines Inn, I've sorted out our own mini Peaks blat first; it's a twisty forty mile route that will take us from the Cat & Fiddle - always a handy local spot to meet, across the Snake Pass and on to the Strines Inn, while avoiding roads used in the afternoon's Yorkshire 8 run.

Meet at 9.30 Cat & Fiddle for a prompt 9.45 departure.

Anyone wanting Tom Tom or Tyre copies of the route to the Strines Inn, please let me know!

So, who's up for some Sunday blatting and a get together with our Yorkshire neighbours?

Dave

Can't make this I'm afraid as I have already planned a trip on Monday over to Anglesey in the Westy with Steve & Adam.

2 days in a row might be pushing it with the Mrs!

Sounds like a good outing though - have a good trip

Sods law... I'm in France that weekend! It would have been nice to thank Norman for his help recently. Oh the irony  :d

No problem Chris.

Looks like I'll be flying solo over the Snake Pass to the meet up at the Strines Inn!

did you boys have a good day? we decided on a Sunday trip in lue of the weather in the end.

we went to Bangor via Wrexham, Llangollen, Corwen, Betws-y-coed and Snowdonian national park.

we all got a good sun tan, met with others there and had a BBQ, then a blast through the tunnels on the way home.

Was a great day, good call shifting your run from the Monday.

Even found a slightly different leg for part of the run up from Buxton to Glossop - much twistier and hillier! Needless to say, that's now in the Peaks Blat route. The Strines Inn for lunch was good, by God though, that last bit of road to get there was rough! (Not pot holed as such, just uneven). Iced cream stop at Bakewell followed by a run across the moors, towards Longnor, then back up towards Buxton.
