    Fitting of body shell

Again request for advice on the riveting of the shell to the chassis, as this is approaching fast. I've been through the FW manual again and can't remember much about how the shell and inside panels are to be fitted. Have some smaller black headed rivets in my supplied kit, but no real guidance on number of holes, pitch between or how many. I assume these are just for the 2 inside panels that go on the outside of the cabin, and then the rest of the shell attachment is just be normal 4mm plain rivets. Does the shell need any bonding like silicone or anything? Also any tips on putting the shell together? My rough plan was to assemble the rear section, side panels and rear wheel arches together on the drive once i had cut any holes for the filler and exhaust etc. and then attempt to fit this over the back of the car, with the first point of contact being the lip on the rear tub, and then hinge it down, but I'm open to any advice? Thanks in advance
  2. Hey guys, was wondering if anyone happened to know a bit more about (I think) Axon Automotive and Westfield's prototype on replacing the standard passenger tub (originally made using steel or aluminum bars) to carbon fibre. I tried to look through their website, I thought the kit car was supposed to be in production by the end of last year but I don't see much information about it. On the other hand, I did manage to find a picture, below, of (what I think is) the prototype. Any thoughts on the use of carbon fibre for the tub? I assume it will provide substantial weight saving, and possibly extra stiffness on the tub but I'm not sure about the connections between the front and rear steel frames with the tub. What do you think?

    Bodywork

I have acummulated some body panels in the course of my business that I collected , not because I necessarily wanted them but it seemed a shame that they would undoubtedly be destined for scrap if I did not pick them up . These parts aren't related to my business as I paid for them personally , none of them owe huge amounts but if anyone is interested they can have for what I paid for them . I x Wide bonnet cut down and jointed to fit a narrow highline ... needs finishing £15 1 X Wide bonnet earlier kit type bodywork in green cut for air filter and crazed around air filter hole £15 1 X Zei Wide bonnet with multiple holes in very poor shape but may be good for someone £10 (kit type) 1 X Wide scuttle of Zei , front of scuttle has been cut out and has been repaired underside may be good for someone £10 (kit type) 1 X Bodytub off Zei has had arches extended , engine sides have been cut and are not with it is split in two at back £FREE (kit type) Could post the scuttle but the other parts are collection only really , I am in Gloucestershire GL15 area , I'm not in any hurry to shift these so if you read this post months later I may still have them so if you want to make yourself a V8 bonnet could be a good start above with the bonnets ! ........ I may have a separate power bulge if you wanted to do this .
  4. For sale S/H body tub as removed from my car, due to some minor damage. Red - ZK Wide Body - Removeable rear arches. Damage:- 1. Has exhaust burn to NS front - following over zealous rolling road session ! 2. Accident damage to rear bodywork - cracked fibreglass round rear foglight area. Not severe & you can hardly notice unless you look for it. Ideal for a race car or if someone wants to spend the time to fix it up. £100 Buyer collects. No comments about my conservatory please
