    Duratec valve cover

Duratec valve cover, gaskets and bolts. Brand new never fitted - £80 Collection from Reading
  2. The time has come to sell my high spec road-legal, track focused, 2 Litre Duratec powered Westfield. I have owned the car for the last 4 years. Although predominantly a track car it is fully road-legal and I regularly attend the local WSCC meets. The car originally started off life with a Zetec engine. However in 2015 the previous owner took the car to Northampton Motorsport where a fully rebuilt Duratec engine was supplied and installed. Northampton motorsport also refreshed the car with a new fuel system, new cooling system, rewire with new dashboard, and a full suspension setup. They also ran in the new engine, followed by a rolling road tune where it produced 254bhp and 187lb-ft (254Nm) of torque. A large number of receipts are available for this work totalling over £13500. The car has covered just over 3000 trouble free miles with the new engine. Weighing just 545kg and running 254bhp the car is extremely quick on track. Having been setup by Troy at NMS the car is a joy to drive.. The handling is very predictable which inspires great confidence. Having owned a number of track cars this is by far the quickest and most enjoyable car I have driven on track. There is nothing quite like it. I have regularly serviced the car using only Millers Nanodrive NT+ oil every few hundred miles. The car comes with 12 months MOT unit November 2022 - No advisories on last MOT. Current engine mileage is 3050 with approximately 8600 miles on the chassis. There have been 4 previous owners. I’ve listed the specs below. As you can see no expense has been spared. Included with the car is a huge folder of receipts and history. Engine - 254bhp Rebuilt and installed by NMS - 2015 (Receipts provided) Has covered 3000 miles since install. 2.ltr Duratec SBD cams Vernier pulleys Uprated springs and retainers Ported head Standard valves SBD Omega pistons CR 12.5:1 SBD Carillo rods Standard crank Lightened and balanced Pace dry sump system Titan 4 KG flywheel AP twin plate paddle clutch Lightweight denso alternator Jenvey throttle body kit - including air horns, inlet manifold and fuel rail. 3. After nearly 6 years of ownership the time has come to sell my roadgoing Westfield sprint / hillclimb / track day car. This is an opportunity to buy a truly ready to go competitive car which has been run in roadgoing classes (Westfield Speed series W2 and BARC equivalent) but easily has the pace for W3+ on non-roadgoing tyres. In my novice hands it has delivered class wins at Shelsley Walsh, Gurston Down, Castle Combe and Abingdon CARnival and has rarely been out of the top 3. Despite 270 HP it is extremely well set up and predictable, even in the wet. A recent outing at Castle Combe with an instructor, more used to Caterhams, left him seriously impressed with how capable it was. The previous owner purchased the car new as a factory build Sport 2000 and carefully upgraded the car for competitions using the best available parts and suppliers. It certainly is not a show car, with the bodywork reflecting a competition focussed vehicle. However, it comes with the following brand new items for the new owner:- - New Westfield V8 Bonnet (red) - New Westfield nosecone (Black) - New Carbon NV super lightweight carbon wheel arch protectors - New Carbon NV carbon composite boot cover - 10 Litres of Millers Triple Ester competition oil and other spares. Also included is a spare set of 13” Compomotive CRX wheels (like new) and Avon ZZS tyres fitted in April this year, with less than 50 wet track day miles. The additional items would cost around £3k if purchased separately. Price £16.5K to include all above as an ‘on the button’ roadgoing competition car package / amazing track day car. Chassis: Standard Sport 2000 – Registered on age related plate in 2008. Mileage 11,200. MOT until 21.05.22 Steering by Westfield rack, competition mountings, short competition steering arms. Suspension is standard rear wishbones, factory ‘Gen 3’ wide track front. Dampers are Protec alloy spec'd and supplied by Procomp Motorsport. Factory rear anti-rollbar, Playskool front anti-rollbar. Suspension setup by Procomp Motorsport. Westfield alloy uprights, Westfield competition brakes, with 4 pot front callipers and front vented discs. 7” x 13” Prorace 1.2 black wheels on the front and 8” x 13” Compomotive CXR wheels, black, fitted with 215/55x13” Avon ZZS all round (MSA 1b). Body: Standard factory Sport 2000 Post Office red bodywork, with Aerodynamix carbon fibre aeroscreen, carbon effect rear light clusters and carbon effect lightweight dash. Dash 2 electronic display (factory fitted). Dash mounted FIA cutout switch. JK Composite seats; double skinned, and a special order low back seat for the passenger. lightweight wing mirrors. Small headlights. CSR style carbon fibre front wings. CarbonMods carbon fibre lightweight nosecone, fitted with canards. Playskool Motorsport lightweight full safety cage (fully approved for MSA use). Engine: This is essentially the original Ford Power products Duratec engine as fitted by Westfield new. However the engine has been much modified, and its present spec is as follows:- 2ltr. Duratec on standard crank, but carefully balanced, and SBD keyway mod. Lightweight flywheel, by Raceline. Titan drysump kit, Carillo steel conrods, Supertec forged pistons. ARP flywheel bolts, crank pulley bolts, main bearing cap bolts and big end bolts. Cylinder head gas flowed by Simon Armstrong of Ultimate Performance, and camshafts also by Ultimate Performance, fitted with vernier pulleys. visit www.ultimatep.com after which I think you'll agree there isn't anyone better qualified for the job. The engine still runs on the KMS tapered throttle bodies, as used at the time by Westfield, and the KMS ecu. The entire exhaust system was built by Matt Simpson, Simpson Race Exhausts, to dimensions supplied by Simon Armstrong. Typically noise tests at 97-99 db. Engine was initially rebuilt to something like the above spec by Northampton Motorsport in 2011, and re-mapped by Troy Robinson. It subsequently had a precautionary engine rebuild at Northampton (when the dry sump conversion was carried out) in March 2015. In April 2015, the car was checked (following the March re-build) on The NMS rolling road, and was found to be making (at the flywheel) 272 bhp at about 8,750 rpm, and 181 lbs/ft of torque at about 6,400 rpm. Of more practical relevance, the torque exceeds 150 lbs/ft from 4,500 rpm right through to the red line of 8,950; and the power exceeds 250 bhp from 7,400 rpm through to approx. 9,000 rpm. It has been completely reliable, just changed the oil filter and oil very regularly, and only used Millers fully synthetic triple ester competition oil. Transmission: Uprated competition paddle clutch. Gearbox is based on a Ford type 9 5 speed 'box, but everything was re- built in March 2019 using full alloy casings by Steve Perks (SPC transmissions). It is a Steve Perks own design of straight-cut close ratio gear set, on fully needle roller main shaft and synchromesh engagement. The prop shaft is an upgraded Bailey Morris item. The diff is a Ford Sierra based diff. However, it has been rebuilt by Bara Motorsport with 4.44 crown wheel and pinion set and at the same time a ZF plated LSD unit was fitted. The combination of high revving engine mated to this gearbox gives amazing speed ranges through the gears and is key to the car’s competitiveness. 60mph in 1st, 84 in 2nd, 105 in 3rd, etc. and it had been timed at the Aintree sprint at just under 140mph and still pulling. Fuel supply is via a pair of small sprint tank made by Alloy Racing Fabrications, with a separate swirlpot, and 2 fuel pumps, so no risk of fuel starvation unless you run out of fuel completely.
  4. ------------------------------------------ NOW SOLD ------------------------------------------ Hi All, I hope you all doing well. Unfortunately, it is time to sell my loved Westfield due to house purchase and the need for some additional cash to maximise our deposit. The car is well know amongst Warwickshire members and have been in the regular club meetings at the Falcon and around the Curborough a few times. The car was purchased by me on 2018 and have done not many miles since. Current mileage is 14700miles. Car is fitted with immobiliser Thatcham 1, that helps with peace of mind together with the detachable steering wheel. 🙂 MOT is due to 21/03/2022 There is a PRG Mini Sport trailer as well up for sale that I have used to tow the car to events. I am asking for £15500 for the car and £1500 for the trailer. Lots of memories and smiles, would be sad to let it go, but I am sure that might come back at some point to the Westy world. Car is located in Warwick. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. Thanks a lot. Gab.
  5. Hi, I have a leak on my hydraulic clutch and not sure what could be the source, I guess could be the nipple got loosen and then draining would be ok or worst case that the seals are gone and need replacement. My question is what is the best way to tackle it, as the bellhousing is hidden under the cowl?. I thought in propshaft out and the gearbox and get access keeping the engine in place or propshaft out and move the engine forwards and get access to the bellhousing from the engine bay? Please let me know your thoughts, I think that this is something that for sure somebody has gone through already. Thanks a lot. Kind regards.

  8. Hello all, I am gauging interest with the intent to sell my much loved Westfield Sport with the FW body kit. It’s a 57 plate factory built Westfield which pretty much every factory upgrade on it. My only reason for sale is I dont drive the car enough and my other car is a Golf R which is just quick and a bit more practical, but definitely not as much fun!! The car has an MOT valid until 20th September 2017, and two new tires were added on 15th Sept 2016 at the mileage of 7302. The current mileage of the car is 8100 miles. The engine is a 2.0 litre Ford Duratec has been upgraded and the final components are listed below. The work was carried out by AMS on 13th July 2016 and custom mapped by Track n Road on 28th November 2016 resulting in an impressive 220.3 BHP and 154.6 lb/ft (I have the print out of the dyno chart for proof) The engine now revs upto 8500rpm and the car tachometer has been changed to a 10k gauge. Additional VDO oil temperature gauge and voltmeter gauges have been added. Ultimate performance 200 camshafts Wossner 12.5:1 High Compression Forged Piston K1 Forged Conrods ARP Rod bolts KMS MP25 ECU KMS EUGO Controller KMS Inlet Manifold KMS Throttle bodies 4-2-1 Exhaust Additionally the engine has a Raceline low profile wet sump and a Raceline front engine cover in matt black I have added in a bigger radiator to help keep the engine cool on those summer days, its a full stainless steel 55mm core radiator by Coolmax. The drivetrain consists of the following components: 5 speed manual gearbox, I think its an MT75 (not 100% sure) Lightweight Billet flywheel ARP Flywheel bolts AP Racing clutch The other factory upgrades include: Limited Slip Differential Front anti roll bar and the wide track wishbones. Rear anti roll bar Heater kit Contoured dash ProRace 1.2 wheels with 205/50 R15 tyres. Front brakes to 4 pot calipers Heated front screen Leather touring seats The car also has the factory wet weather gear which includes the doors and roof, additionally I have the Perspex side windshields which are great. Also there is a tonneau which has a zip down the middle, and finally I purchased an outdoor full car cover which is a StormForce plus with extra security and fixing straps at a cost of £230.. In the spirit of honesty and to save you time or uncertainty there are a couple of things that need doing on the car that I haven’t got around to do and don’t plan to do before selling, this has been reflected in the price. The tracking needs doing (Typically costs £50-80) There is a small crack in the windscreen, however it has passed 2 MOTs like it so not a problem but wanted to call it out. Based on the spec of the car, the upgrades and the performance, I'm taking into consideration the above I'm looking for £17,000, the car will be available from July but this is open to negotiation.

  10. Hello All, I'm David, I live in Belgium and since last week I have a Westfield with a 2.0 Ford Duratec engine and KMS ecu. The car was factory assembled in 2009 and I'm the 2nd owner. The previous owner turned 75 and it became too difficult for him to get in/out of the car. So he decided to sell it. He now has a Morgan Aero. I think that's an acceptable replacement The previous owner barely drove it, at the moment the car has 14300km (8886 miles) and always stored it inside. So I can say it's a barely new car. But at the moment I'm not happy about the Duratec engine: It seems that the car runs much too rich. I have exactly the same as these guys had, It seems that a few (or most?) Duratecs from around 2009-2011 left the factory without a decent map: (I'll open a separate topic about that shortly) http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/86191-anyone-with-kms-duratec/ http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/75321-duratec-owners/ I added some pictures but I don't like them very much because it was rainy. Will post more and better pictures on a sunny day... hopefully soon. And hopefully soon also happy about the Duratec
  11. So as you can tell from the title, yesterday did not end well... I've had my SEight for 6 months now and in that time have uprated the cooling system, sorted the brakes, fitted new wheels and have done a basic service - oil, filters etc. Not done anything on the engine apart from that. However while cruising home after a great day at Bedford Autodrome, the old V8 punched a hole in the side of the block, spitting lumps of metal on to the road. Presumably some sort of con rod failure - the RAC man suggested possible blocked or oil starved con rod bearing. - Is it worthwhile or even possible to repair the damaged block and rebuild the bottom end? - If not, is it worth sourcing a new block and rebuilding the engine using my existing parts? - Are the cylinder heads in my car completely standard, or uprated in the Westfield builds? How can I tell? - Could I find a fully build engine and fit the cylinder heads etc from my existing engine? - Where's the best place to find spares / whole engines? I do love the drama and performance of the V8 but more modern engines could 'add lightness' whilst providing a similar power output. As another option, how complicated would it be to replace it with a 2.0L Duratec for example, but keep the existing LT77 5-speed gearbox? Anyway, I don't have the work space or time for a long term perfect rebuild project, I would just like to get it back on the road as soon as possible, hence coming here for some advice! This is my first kit car so go easy on me, I have much to learn and any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Oscar

  14. Widebodied Westfield Sport 2000 Duratec. Built by me in 2006 as a modular build using all new parts supplied by the Westfield factory.
