  1. Yes, it really is time for the annual Naan fest that is Cheshire's Christmas Curry! We're at a new venue this year - and highly recommended it's come too' not to far away though, just in Knutsford itself. A few of us will be meeting up in the Rose & Crown, just down the road, from about 7/7.30 pm before we wander over to the Eastern Revive, on King Street for about 8 pm. Eastern Revive 93 King Street, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6EQ Sample menu Please let me know if you can make it as soon as possible so we can let them know the numbers!
  2. Round again so soon! It's our monthly meet, 7.30pm, The Whipping Stocks, just outside Knutsford.
  3. It's that time again! We'll have a chat about how we want to do the factory open day, and who's coming. And also what we want to do for our Christmas Meal; is it Naan time again, or do we fancy a change - The Whipping Stocks were hoping we'd try them again, last year, but I'd already booked the Zest. Cheshire & N. Staffs Monthly Meet, 7.30pm, The Whipping Stocks, nr Knutsford.
  4. Should be an interesting day, specially if you've not visited the factory before; Westfield details here I'll be there, who else fancies it?
  5. This Thursday at The Whipping Stocks, nr Knutsford, from 7.30 pm See you there!

  9. We normally have a run up to Three Sisters to watch the Speed Series, obviously, without a Westfield at the moment, I won't be leading a run; but I am still going next Sunday. I'll be up there for about 9.30 - 10 am, if any of the Cheshire crew fancies meeting up there.

Classic & Car Spectacular at Tatton Park, Cheshire

Classic & Performance Car Spectacular, Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire. May 31st/June 1st "The UK's favourite classic car spectacular & massive auto-jumble at Tatton park, Knutsford, Cheshire, is set for another sell-out show celebrating 'the golden age of motoring'. Up to 2000 cars from around 80 prestige car clubs + superb individual exhibits. All cars judged... lots of awards for the best-modified and modern classics. Enthusiasts can see some of the finest club stands in the country. Massive 2-day auto-jumble with over 200 stalls...specialist suppliers and enthusiasts with surplus spares including a great variety of general trade stalls..... literally... something for everyone!!" Due to popular demand, this year Cheshire and North Staffs plus some of our neighbours, will be having a club stand, but we need you, or more specifically, we need your cars! Please let me know if you fancy coming along to this excellent event, and whether you can do both days, or just want a single day pass. We'll really need your car on the stand for the full day, but don't worry, you don't have to remain with it all day! The show runs for two days, with camping available, (for exhibitors only), from 12 noon Friday, until 7pm Sunday for £10 (tent) or £20 (motor-home) Exhibiting cars are free and the vehicle pass will allow two adults in to park and show. The show runs from 9am till 4pm. (Please note, once on the club stand, please note, no unauthorised movement of vehicles is permitted till after 4pm - show marshals will escort you out in an emergency! I need to know numbers and which day(s) you can come as soon as possible, please! Bad news I'm afraid. I drove over to Tatton Park this morning and managed to get a mobile number for one of the organisers. It would appear they've been full for a couple of months now, in fact he advised me to book before Christmas for next year if I wanted to guarantee getting in! So I'm afraid, no club stand/pitch this year. Though I am thinking of having a run over their on the Sunday, see what the show's like for myself, and possibly start planning for next year.
  12. It's that time again! This Thursday, our regular monthly meet, 7.30pm at The Whipping Stocks. Don't forget next Saturday, the 8th, is also our BLiNK Motorsport's open day! Please get your thinking caps on for Thursday, and well start planning what we fancy doing, event wise, this year...
  13. Cheshire and North Staffs is pleased to announce the day we've arranged with Fras and Rich, to take place at BLiNK's workshop in Winsford: BLiNK Open-day A big must for your diaries, and hopefully the open day will be the launch of an annual event! Saturday the 8th March starting at 10 am is the key date… For those of you unfamiliar with them, BLiNK are a member (trader) of the club – Fraser himself has been a Westfield owner and club member for years. BLiNK Motorsport offers a wide range of services for all Road, Track and Race enthusiasts. "BLiNK Motorsport's mission is to provide the very best services with very best equipment, based on over 15 years of experience in the Motorsport and Trackday arena.” Blink will be demonstrating geo set up’s, Power Runs on the Dyno and some of the ever expanding range of other services they offer at their Winsford HQ. They will also be showing us their special Westfield pre-season checkover! (based on their “Track-day MOT service”, but tailored for Westfields, fresh from winter lay-ups and upgradeitus. The check ups are the perfect opportunity to have your car professionally given the once over, ready for a fresh sea on of events. Both to make sure it’s safe and to ensure you get the most out of it. It includes both an alignment check on the Hunter Hawkeye machine plus printout and a check over of more than 15 key areas of the car. Each test takes about an hour or so, and costs approx £60 plus vat, no actual checks will be done on the day, but BLiNK will be taking bookings and don’t worry if you’re still SORN’d, BLiNK can arrange for your regular MOT to be booked in next door! We hope to repeat the pre-season check up event every year, so that members can start the new blatting season with confidence after winter lay ups and upgrades. Please let me know if you'd like to attend.
  14. Just a reminder, it's the Cheshire and N Staffs monthly meet this Thursday at 7.30pm at The Whipping Stocks. All welcome, see you there!

Cheshire & N. staffs New Years events

Been having a chat with John, Manchester's AO; who fancies a couple of inter area events in January and February? Tuesday January 8th To be confirmed – Bowling Ashton Tuesday February 12th To be confirmed – looking at organising scaltrix challenge interclub Obviously, final details to be confirmed, just looking for rough numbers from Cheshire and N Staffs. .
  16. Calling all Cheshire & N. Staffs members and anyone else that fancies joining us... It's that time of year again, when hungry winter blatters feel the need for a warming, spicy curry to keep out those winter chills! After such fantastic food and service at Zest Indian Restaurant and Bar, near Sandbach, last year, we will return once again. If I remember right, it worked out around £25 a head last year - very reasonable given the average Cheshire member is a size 0 and eats like a sparrow.* The Zest even seems to have won an award for it's food since we were last there! The restaurant is dead easy to find, just a few minutes from Jn 17 of the M6, near Sandbach - directions here. I need to book a table shortly, so if everyone coming can sign up, that would be fantastic. It's the usual day, Thursday the 5th of December, 8pm Thanks Dave. :xmas: :xmas: *Unfortunately, a demonic ravenous 20' tall sparrow that makes the average plague of locusts look picky.

Cheshire & N. Staffs. trip to Aintree SS round 5

Speed Series Event - Round 5, Saturday 27th April Just like last year, we'll have a run out to support the WSCC's Speed Series drivers and spectate up at the world famous Aintree Circuit. It's a Liverpool Motor Club organised event, using a shorter version of the Historic ex Grand Prix track, even so it's one of the faster tracks the Speed Series runs on. Quite bizarre really, as it nestles partly in the middle of the equally famous Grand National course - it always adds a bit of extra incentive not to have an off, when one of the "obstacles" to hit is Bechers Brook... I'll be leaving from Congleton at about 9.30, if anyone wants to meet up for the run up, just let me know, or you always join us at the circuit. Details of the circuit below, (courtesy of LMC) Clicky
