  1. Q928 Spotted at the Kelpies today - looking good!! Dave
  2. Great day - thanks Brad and Diane for the route navigation, and to Brian for your company - some new roads for me today. The weather was certainly kind for us . Thanks again, Cheers, Dave.
  3. Hope to join you tomorrow, the Talla road is great (often get quite a few cyclists on it though). If you wanted to head SW, into D&G, this is a run I put on a year ago. https://www.plotaroute.com/route/419419 Maybe a bit long for tomorrow, but maybe discuss the options at abington. Cheers, Dave.
  4. Made me laugh this morning - and I am a cyclist (but not the lycra clad variety)! Enjoy.

    Front number plates

I mount my No plate with a couple of fairly soft rubber bobbins (bit like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTI-VIBRATION-RUBBER-BOBBIN-MOUNT-10x10-M4-MALE-6mm-MALE-6mm-45A/202322717794?hash=item2f1b5fac62:g:N5gAAOSwCpRbCPT8) This allows the plate to fold underneath then spring back if you do hit a speedbump, or front kerb, and stops you cracking the plate, or worse, pulling a chunk out of the nosecone. Dave.
  8. Brad, As it seems we may be down to only 4 cars, I agree its probably best to postpone till next year, to ensure a decent turn out to justify all the time and effort you have both put in. Like Brian, I have also been heavily involved in road rallies many years ago, and its the navigational aspect that appeals. Dave. (PS - The Tibbie Shiels Inn is closed down sadly).

MOT passed but slight play in steering rack

I couldnt agree more with Damper Man - I did the same and fitted a HD quick rack, and even after a few 1000 miles, its still relatively stiff and doesnt self centre like I think it should. Sorry this doesnt help answer the OP question though...! Dave.
  10. Brad, Looks like my plans are changing, and I should be able to make it now, so can you put me down for this please. After all the effort you have put in to this, hopefully there will be a good turnout. Thanks, Dave.
  11. Sorry to have to miss out on Applecross this year, but hope you all have a great time, the forecast looks pretty good. Try and get a discount for quantity on the glenelg ferry again! Hope to be back with you next year. Dave.
  12. What a Great plan, a bit like plot and bash! Unfortunately I am away that w/end otherwise I would have definately been up for it. If you need any ideas for the Dumfries area, and I can help, let me know. Dave.
  13. Hi Dave - How's it going? Are you doing the run next weekend, or what about Applecross this year?

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Welding

I had the same on my wunoff - I used one of these (modified by reducing the height to get the right diameter) - then got someone who could weld stainless to stainless - worked very well and strengthened this weak point considerably. (I didnt have the brace like yours - so the idea may not be feasible,) There is a range of sizes and diameters to choose from. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-Cone-Concentric-Reducer-Adapter-2-to-2-5-Stainless-Steel/112475488939?hash=item1a300fc2ab:g:Pg0AAOSwuxFY0QNo Dave.
