    Latest IVA emissions proposal

Well done for spotting this Jeff, I too have added my views. I think all clubs should join together and fight this proposal.
  2. Hi gents, I have just replaced my original escort diff (within Westfield casting) with a second hand unit and bolted up the propshaft. How much backlash is acceptable in the propshaft (both rear wheels on ground)? All UJ's are in as new condition so would appreciate your knowledge. Kind regards Dean

    1997 Westfield Wide Body SEI-easy project-SOLD

Don't forget this is a great club with lots of plentiful advice and second hand parts at competitive prices, I have seen shortened sumps for sale on Ebay for a little over £100. I believe this car could be completed for little outlay especially if you are not in a rush to complete.

2.0 Zetec (silver top) bolt help.

I would really appreciate someone confirming the specification of the following bolts for my 2.0 Zetec silver top engine (its standard appart from the 45 DCOE's so produces 160bhp). i.e. are these stretch bolts requiring replacement after removal or not? I also need the locking proceedure/ torque values. 1) Flywheel bolts. 2) Clutch pressure plate. Best regards Dean (Bristol westy)
  8. Ford Type 9 gearbox - speedometer drive gear wanted I looking for a 25 tooth speedo drive gear, if you have a spare in good condition I would appreciate you selling it to a loving home! Please pm or call me, Bristol 01454 886602. Best regards Dean

    Type 9 Gearbox Oil Leak

Has anyone experienced an oil leak between the bellhousing and the gearbox casing? In short I have stripped cleaned and fitted a new cork gasket (with hylomar) for the input shaft and fitted a new paper gasket between the bellhousing and gearbox casing (with hylomar around the layshaft and selector shafts on both sides of the paper gasket), torqued the bolts, filled a minimum quantity of oil and put the entire assy upright (on the bellhousing). Only a few weeks later the oil started leaking again!! Does anyone know of a cure or recommend a really good liquid gasket?
  10. Gents, I would like to fit a top mounted low line throttle linkage to a pair of 45DCOE's, prefferably with the cable entry from the gearbox/bulkhead side. Any advice is much appreciated regarding which manufacturer is best. regards Dean

    LSD advice required

Gents, I am in the process of fitting a 2.0 Zetec engine and have upgraded the suspension etc to my SEI. I have just purchased a 3.89 escort diff and am pondering whether a Quaife ATB diff would be necessary for road use given the cost. The engine has 160bhp and will be used only for road use. Any advice and experience with this unit would be appreciated. regards Dean
