  1. Been off the road a while but all good to go now
  2. Hi Phil, PM received, will get it in the post to you this week
  3. Found an unused recoil kit in the garage. I believe this was bought to repair Xflow sump bolt threads. No longer need as I no longer have a xflow. Contains correct drill, a number of threads and a fitting tool. if anybody wants this to help cure a leaky xflow sump!, PM me your address and will drop into the post.
  4. Hi Chris, thanks for the offer, I am sorted now
  5. Could anybody in the Noth Yorks area loan me an engine crane for a couple of days this week at all? whilst sitting on a French campsite last week I impulsively bought an engine off Ebay (I blame the red wine), arrived back from France at the weekend and collected it, but now I have no way of getting it out of the back of the car
  6. Can't quite tell but that looks like one of the fittings from a Silvertop Zetec cam cover?
  7. Thanks for the replies, had a chat with Rally Design and they suggested not to mix within a caliper due to different heat transfer properties, but not a problem to have the calipers with different pistons. In the end decided to replace them all but a Rally Design only have 3 in stock with a three week wait :-(
  8. I am in the process of stripping down my Wilwood Powerlite 4 pot front calipers. The calipers have been on for about eight years and are due for a refurnishment. Having taken all the pistons out, four are pitted, looks like damage caused by very small stones getting stuck between piston bore and piston. No damage to piston bores. As well as new pads, bleed nipples and piston seals etc, I have ordered 4 replacement pistons from Rally Design, hoping to use the original good ones and replace the damaged ones. However the replacement pistons, whilst the same size are different. They now appear to be stainless steel rather than aluminium weighing 62 g each rather than 26g (see piccie, originals on left new ones on right). Can I mix and match these? Or should I buy a further 4 so they are all the same?

    Full Cage

I also bought a cage from Luke during the bulk buy, took me awhile to get round to fitting it, but really happy with the service, quality and the result.
  10. Pair of black Sabelt 4-point harnesses from SEi https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232014934965
  11. Thanks for all the replies, insurance now sorted with Adrian Flux, cage made no difference to quote. Issue with FJ started with a similar question as above "is it modified?" "modified from which specification?", "when it was built". Well I am the 4th owner so have no idea of the original specification and indicated I could provide a list of the changes I know about/ have done ( may have been easier to list what I knew was original (chassis, bodywork, internal Ali panels, wishbones, fuel tank)). I was not trying to be awkward but seemed to indicate a lack of understanding on the nature of a kit car. I listed changes, engine, radiator, hubs, brakes, wheels, aero screen, diff, gearbox, etc and when I mentioned full cage he stopped me put me on hold and then came back and indicated the underwriters would not insure cars with a cage and therefore he could not provide me with a quote. Anyway sorted now
  12. Just tried to get an insurance quote from Footman James for this year, they refused to provide a quote because I have just fitted a full cage! Any suggestions for insurers that will provide cover to a Westfield with a cage fitted?
  13. Link to Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231923204072?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  14. If I remember rightly rhe standard blacktop flywheel is big and heavy, whilst you may not want a ultra lighten version, a lightened one maybe a good idea, like the race line one mentioned above.
