  2. October 1st, 2023 Spend: £0.00 Car is once again SORNed, it must be tinkering time... October 18th, 2023 Sold: £50 Met up with @RickRack who bought my old 15" wheels. Was great to catch up and am looking forward meeting his SEiGHT one day. October 19th, 2023 Spend: £4.71 The nose cone on a SEiGHT is incredibly difficult to remove due to the cowling around the radiator, so to make life a little bit easier, I started to fabricate some brackets that hold the weight of the radiator, allowing me to use two hands to remove the nose cone. I used two flat bar pieces and made a small indentation in the ends in which the cowling slots in. Also used some Hammerite on the chassis and brackets as it was showing signs of surface rust. October 28th, 2023 Spend: £0.00 As promised earlier in the year, I wanted to get rid of the (imho) awful bars on the nose cone. First I needed to remove the peelable paint though, and after soaking a microfibre cloth in white spirit it was relatively (if not smelly!) easy task to get it back to before. And then it was a simple case of attacking the bars with a cutting disc... no turning back now! October 29th, 2023 Spend: £0.00 After a lot of sanding and creating purple dust, the bars and their remains are now nicely flat. To fill the holes I'm using Isopon P40. 3. January 3rd, 2024 Spend: £16.60 Continuing with the side panel by bonding in the bonnet locating block And then trial fitted it all when cured January 14th, 2024 Spend: £48.00 Dreaded this moment a bit, but it's now time to fit some AeroCatches to replace the old bonnet locks. Decided against the lower position which would have covered up the two holes left by the old lock, but would have also mean some extensive cutting away of the bonnet locating blocks. Used Everbuild Stixall to bond it in. January 20th, 2024 Spend: £0.00 Fabricated a bracket from an old metal T plate and managed to position it such that it clears the side panel and sits on a metal plate underneath the bodywork. Did have to remove the VIN plate, but found a nice new location for that already. January 27th, 2024 Spend: £84.60 Used some vinyl wrap to tidy up the are where the bonnet fixing bracket sits and the side panel part that is covered by the detachable side panel. January 28th, 2024 Spend: £0.00 Using the laser level and a template from when the exhaust headers were fitted, I cut a hole in the side panel, just about big enough for the headers to pass through. Still need to enlarge it though as I can't remove the panel with the headers fitted. To be continued next month Last month: £ 5486.94 This month: £ 149.20 ----------+ Total: £ 5636.14

  4. May 1st, 2023 Spend: £0.00 A lovely spring weather evening called for a spontaneous trip with my son and daughter. Pulled over at Althorp estate and got few nice pictures. May 11th, 2023 Spend: £270.00 After I replaced my front wishbones I knew I needed the wheel alignment checked and so I booked it in with Northampton Motorsport. Was very surprised to learn that the car only weighs 680Kg. I expected it to be a lot more given the size of the engine. May 13th, 2023 Spend: £0.00 Attended the Westfield-Chesil factory open day. A great turnout at the new facilities in Bicester. May 23rd, 2023 Spend: £0.00 It's the Annual National Drive your Westfield to Work Day(Week) and as the organiser I obviously had no choice but to visit the office. However, on the way back, about 12 miles before reaching home I noticed my right front cycle wing dancing around. As it turns out, the cycle wing stay had broken off. I managed to limp home and drop the thing off at Precision Welding who has done lots of bits for me in the past May 27th, 2023 Spend: £15.00 Cycle wing stay repaired, painted and fitted again May 28th, 2023 Spend: £0.00 Since having the alignment done, my steering wheel was no longer straight when going in a straight line. But as the boss was tight fitting, I had to fabricate a steering wheel puller. This was my first time using the welder I got for my birthday 2 years ago and after practising a few lines, I was confident enough to start. It's not the prettiest of welds, but it has worked a treat, and the steering wheel is back on straight. Last month: £ 5102.23 This month: £ 285.00 ----------+ Total: £ 5387.23

April 21st, 2023 Spend: £18.08 Finally gone all smoked lights by replacing the side repeaters by a smoked set from Performance Lights. April 27th, 2023 Spend: £29.00 Arranged for a swap of my 300mm steering wheel with a 280mm one that gives me just a little bit more leg room. Also changed the temperature gauge for a VDO one to match the rest of the gauges. Last month: £ 4541.08 This month: £ 561.15 ----------+ Total: £ 5102.23
