  1. Good Afternoon All, Yes it is I, Patrick from the Parts Department. Well how did all this come about... Joint AO... I wanted to be more involved with the WSCC and I asked, could I assist in any way with the local area meet. I messaged @Andy Banks - Chairman who discussed this with the board and@Rhett - Joint Black Country AO. It was agreed that I could come on board to assist and support with the local meets where possibly. Attending meets, arranging drives out on hot summer days and weekend jaunts into the black countryside. I have a strong interest in cars in general, always have, always will.. managing to secure a position at Westfield Sportscars was massive for me. To come to work everyday, do a job you enjoy and work in an industry which genuinely excites you is a rare thing. I have been lucky this year, worked many shows met enthusiasts, customers old and new. What is clear to see is the amazing support and cars that the passion all owners have. I have seen some stunning cars, many different models and engine types. I do not own a Westy at present however never say never. I love the cars, the drive, sound and way they make me feel. Let me get the birth of my first child out of the way and maybe just maybe... in the nearish future I'll have one.... possibly even build one to see what you guys go through. I'll keep this account seperate from the works account and generally I'll use it on weeknights and weekends, however if you ever need to contact me for parts you know where I'll be most days... I look forward to attending my first meet as a joint area organiser. Regards Patrick

  3. Meet at Marks and Spencers, Ashbourne, DE6 1DG,10am ON SATURDAY to take the road that twists and turns as it follows the beautiful Bentley Brook through the Peak District. Our 1 hour long, non-direct route will nicely land us at the cafe in time to see all the bikes/bikers while we enjoy some brunch at 11.30 ish. At the cafe there is a compartmental open cupboard for storing bike helmets which also accomodates steering wheels, keeping them nice and safe from naughty little thieves Afterwards we will go chasing cake, if it all works out we will be b roading to a cafe that only Glen and I have been to, but be warned, it is outside seating only. The usual rule applies, if it rains then stop in bed. I will confirm which day it will be when the very pretty Lucy Verasamy has spoken. EDIT - IT IS ON SATURDAY Who is up for it?

  26. After the Fort, we set off south. Weather was looking reasonable, so the hood stayed off. We stopped off at a park for a walk. It was nothing remarkable, but the views were nice! After that, we carried on in the general direction of the Romanian border with a couple of campsites in mind for the night. And that's where we found it. We found the nice road in Ukraine. I'll need to get some of the footage off my gopro to prove it exists, but in typical gopro fashion, it's not been behaving itself so I'll have to come back to it later! Edited to add in a photo - unfortunately, the gopro somehow didn't start recording until the end of the really twisty bits but at least caught my reaction, and you can see that there's an actual good road surface somehow! It seems skiing has recently become a thing in the Carpathians, and with it, investment has come. Several ski resorts had been built or were in the process of being built, and the twisty mountain roads had been treated to a fresh layer of tarmac. We had been behaving ourselves, but it was comforting to know that they're pretty relaxed about speeding in Ukraine. After a failed trial period where the punishment for speeding was being verbally reprimanded by the officer who caught you (wonder why that didn't stop people?) fines were introduced - but you have to be more than 20km/h over the limit to get one, and it comes to the equivalent of about £7. If you somehow go in excess of 50km/h above the limit, that fine gets doubled to a whopping £14! That being said, this road had a speed limit of 90km/h - which I only managed to get to once. I was in no danger of losing £14! After a good bit of fun, we took a detour to our first suggested campsite. It wasn't any good, so we decided to move on to the next one, but it did provide this illustration of how unevenly split the wealth is in Ukraine still (although significantly improved since the soviet era). Just a guy, casually walking his cow, next to a gold topped building. Another 10 minutes down our new favourite road we found a better prospect for a campsite and parked up for the night. We timed it just about perfectly, with some heavy wind rolling in just when we finished pitching the tents.

  29. Looks fantastic but do check on the underside for blasting medium trapped in any baffles or crevices, any doubt -- wash it out. We have a member that lost his engine due to grit circulating the engine after a sand blast of his cam cover
