  1. WESTFIELD SPORTS CAR CLUB SPEED SERIES Roadgoing Specialist Production Carsand Modified Specialist Production Cars Rule J5.16.7 Earlier this week, at a meeting at Motorsport UK, representation was made on behalf of WSCC regarding cars being caught out by the apparent contradiction in the Rules and Regulations of Motorsport UK (BLUE BOOK) regarding the fitting of catalytic converters. It is known that some cars do not require a CAT to be fitted for road use and to pass their MOT but the Rules require a CAT to be fitted to all cars including innon road going (Modifield Specialist Production Cars) classes. Unfortunately our represention and suggestions were unsuccessful which is a great frustration and very disappointing. However, we will continue to make immediate further representation which will include taking matters to the highest level if required Meanwhile the SSOT are considering other avenues that might provide less regulated, simpler and more cost effective Sprinting for our Championshio for 2020. I will keep you updated with progress.

  4. We’re all packed and ready. Anna has set the alarm for 5:30am! 😳 again and we should rock up around 10am is for the gates to open. She likes to get a good spot for the tent and set up home for the weekend 😁. I’m shipping my workshop space heater down for the big tent as I think it may be a bit nippy, although I’m thinking positive back to last years scorcher.

  6. Massive thanks to @Trevturtle @marcusb @Bagpuss and @Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO for getting the show this far. Pitch ready Van full of gear. Oops, how did that get there. Were ready so all we need now are the Volunteers and to that I would like to give a huge thank you to you because without you I would have to drink that beer on my own. The van will be there at around 11:30 so if you are there before please feel free to set up on the camp site but please if you turn up late afternoon then help first then tent after, there's plenty of space. The HS2 project has started but from what I saw today will not affect you if you are coming in the main entrance which all you volunteers will be. I did rain today, sorry it hammered it down today so It may be a bit wet on the grass tomorrow so you may need a bit more than flip flops. So, see you there and don't start the beer before me.

  7. This car has now been sold. I feel quite sad, but I've got the price I wanted, so cannot complain.

  9. Got my Fuel Tank and I'm in love with it, thankyou Radtec, I've got my refurbished brake calipers and I'm genuinely impressed with BG Developments they look stunning. I've been to my local motor factors and purchased pads for front and rear, but they had no discs. The shopping list stood at: Discs, Battery and a Sierra Handbrake cable, then I'm sorted, I can break the spanners out and get the ASBO back on form..... So I blundered and cursed my way through the Friday traffic to the Factory, I must have scared the carp out of the poor Parts guys when I got there....... I've not shaved since I got home on Wednesday and I was wearing my coveralls, small animals, cowardly children and large adults were running and hiding, I must have looked a nasty sight...... BUT I was armed.......... with my wallet, I've now got everything I need, except some petrol, I'll get that in the morning. I really don't want to go back to work on Monday..... Yes Monday! For all those that are going, have a great weekend at Stoneleigh, maybe next year for me! Nem......

  10. Morning guys, Saying hello from Coventry (Warwickshire). Just picked up my first Westfield and I am looking forward to the Kit Car Show this weekend. It's a 1997 1600 SE x flow. My drive back home was my first drive in a Westfield and it was a lot of fun! Cheers, Chris

  11. Slight jump at the end but a good 260+ so I'm happy... The RPM is the dyno not the car so its a bit misleading as it was peaking at 8250rpm Rob Edwards westfield_best of day april 2019.pdf

  14. ...is looking good. No rain to stop play, so no excuses for not coming to the show! Those of you camping, take note that overnight temps will be low, make sure to bring what you need to keep warm in your tents!

  15. If you're going in a tin top (it's going to be dry, trust me ), and still want to come with us, give me a text on 07971 125839, because the only reason a tin top will be following us is because I have 5 tyres that need to be taken to the show, and I don't think I can fit them on the Westfield (trying it out tomorrow)... you do me a favour, and I'll buy you a beer at the show Win-Win!

  16. Besides, water in the car is a good sign. If none of it leaks out, then the car is watertight...

  19. Dunno andy bates reasons behind it. You should be able to stick a cat in a bike engine as long as You re-map the engine for the increase of temperature (basically flooding it with fuel at high loads) and sacrificing a considerable amount of peak power. Having said that... NO. i wouldn't do that to my car for the sake of few sprints... or maybe yes. It is an absolute shame that this happened. I had a funny conversation with the scrutineer that did my vehicle passport about the character who triggered all this massive issue... i can't quote here the conversation because would get both of us in trouble. I wouldn't be worried of sprinting without CAT on any event not organised by longton. I think would be a good exercise for us guys, to do a bit of research and find out if he works with any other club where we may be invited, to flag it as dangerous. For what i've been told by a few scrutinieers all of them are well advised to dont take actions for non safety critical concerns in amateur motorsport unless there is a competitor claim... (that includes the bloddy lithium batteries too) so... if we can find events that are idiot free, we should be fine.

  22. I'm really pleased with the results and I'm looking forward to Blyton next weekend for its first shake down.. I think the only bits I haven changed or modified are the read brakes and most of the chassis... If only I had realised how much work this was going to be I might not have started, but as its almost done I can breath now....

  27. Sharing my latest bargain buy.....I bought a quad bike cover as it looked about right for the roll cage of the car. Fully elasticated around it’s skirt. Clearly not tailored to fit but fits ok for Β£10... screws up into a bag of about 8”x 6” https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F142871120737

  28. This is baggy ! Pardon the pun πŸ˜‚ but the elastic around the bottom holds it on, it clears the mirrors and is a cheap solution.

  34. No way, never again.... I took my VX Signum a couple of years ago, I had to pay for the privilege of smashing my front splitter and bumper on the joke that they called the approach road to the parking, the road to Baghdad had fewer craters after the Americans remodelled it...... so nooooooo. Nem.......
