You’re not happy - I had to spend three hours fixing the damn thing while the wife gave me the “20 minutes eh?” look of death! Slowness might just be due to index and cache being rebuilt. It will speed up as time passes. I had to update the server software to the latest version of PHP and (for those. who know what this means) the old CLI vs Apache version caught me out - I should have known better but after I updated PHP the CLI version passed the upgrade test but Apache still used the old one and the update stalled requiring the use of the black arts to manually fix things. I feel better now for offloading

I wish somebody would hitch the trailer up I would be rid of the furniture, I would even pump the tyres up for them but knowing my luck they would unload the trailer on me driveway first, its not even my friends furniture its a friend of her indoors, anything for a quite life

@Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO as you use a Mac - open any image in "Preview" and use the following settings from Tools->Adjust Size NOTE the areas circled in RED - the resolution is totally irrelevant and can be anything (ie any figure it happens to be, typically 72, 96 or 300) 1920 x 1080 is the size of a Full HD TV Screen, so plenty big enough for a Forum Post and helps keep things sweet from our end.

Front uprights look like sierra which would suggest the car is probably a Sierra SDV. If so the bodywork would be ZK but with extra wide rear arches.

Karen likes Prosecco, but unfortunately she doesn’t like duel carriageways when it gets stressful, so off the fast flowing A34 to crawl around Abingdon getting soaked, yes hail is very painful, fortunately it only hit one eye at a time so maintaining 50% vision mostly. I was worried about electrical load as was going into unchartered load with everything on full speed, wipers,heated screen, heater,lights but it was fine. currently the passenger seat is occupied by a dehumidifier

I went for the full package just over a year ago, so have virgin, sky, netflix, broadband (fibre optic) and the phone all from virgin. Has saved me money over the old phone, talk talk broadband and sky. Service has been good and installation trouble free... Worked for me so far. Mart.

ive had virgin internet for years and have only had one problem since having it installed in our house 6 years ago. the bill increase does get annoying but you can haggle it back down or just leave and start it in someone else name. the superhub router doesnt have the best wirless signal but all my stuff is hardwired one problem i did find is once youve had the speed its hard to drop back down to a lesser speed

Sounds reasonable. It can be surprising though, how with a car as light as a Westfield, the drivers weight makes such a difference to static settings. Of course, the same is true of passengers as well, you just need to, ahem, ballast the car, for however it will most often be used, one or two up, before measuring and adjusting. Don’t forget though, that significant height adjustments can throw other settings out. It would be very, very worthwhile having the geometry professionally set up by a Westfield specialist. Then it can be set for how you plan to use the car. You will be amazed at the difference it can make. Lovely looking Westfield by the way, and great to meet you both on Saturday.

Westfield base line setup for my car suggests 160mm front and 175mm rear

We've had Virgin for broadband for many years. It's been mostly reliable, and when there is a fault they seem to fix it quickly, unlike BT. The annual price rises are a nuisance, and i will have to threaten to leave when the next one comes through. Geoff

Virgin ok at my small (residential area) office. Had problems recently and they fixed it very quickly with engineer out in 24hrs. Have talk talk at home and no problems. Both are business plans though. (Worked from home when I set it up and still do office work mr tax man)

Had it for years in its many guises. Internet is usually pretty robust and doesn't drop out that much. Most issues are down to their rubbish hardware. Seems like many people like to use the hub thing in modem mode and a separate router to solve issues. I find the TiVo is pants and have to have my box replaced every 2yrs. I don't rate their TV but it's not them that programme the channels so not their fault. But TBH in thinking if dropping it for freeview stuff as I mostly watch Netflix/amazon cant really comment on phone as I don't have one and when it was forced on me I never used it. Price wise it's all a bit rigged. So expect 40 quid at least

I purchased Virgins top package when I moved into my house just under 2 years ago. Had them back 3 or 4 times to sort out the internet dropping out and the TV going off. They could never sort it and neighbours who still have Virgin are experiencing the same issues with no sign of a fix. I got out within 3 months as they couldn't provide what I had signed up for. Just my 10p's worth!

Resolution from 70 to 15? What does that refer to Geoffrey? Resolution is the the number of pixels in an image usually expressed in pixels per inch or ppi. 300ppi is print quality and 72ppi is for screen. But and it’s a big but, the ppi number is the “density” of pixels and is meaningless unless it is combined with total pixel numbers. It is the total number of pixels that affects the size of the file regardless of the “density” and the software goes on size in both terms of pixel width and number of bytes. So reducing the ppi only works if you also resample st the same time. I’ll check backstage to see if you are over limit but in the mean time please email me one of your original images so I have an idea what we are dealing with Chris

Hello, I'm now the owner of @mr_mcp Westfield. Picked it up on Saturday morning and drove it the 100 miles home. Managed to find a gap in the weather Sunday as well and get another hour in the seat. Joel, thanks for taking the extra time to show me round the car. It was great to meet you. Keep us informed on the Ultima build if it goes ahead.

I've currently got their 360mb/s effort, but stuck with Sky for TV. Price was on a par with line rental + broadband from Sky, but just significantly higher speeds. Not had any failures or drop outs yet.

We had ours installed on a Saturday too. Team came in, dug the front garden and had to lay it in a divot they made in the path down the side on my house ( my path) then tarmac over ( not shielding in plastic, just shove the cable under the fresh tarmac Told them I didnt want any cables at the front of the house as looks rubbish. Then a technician came in later on that day and connected up from the box they fitted onwards

Depends what speed they're offering. Calculate cost on a £ per Mb/s basis. If they are offering fibre to the premises I'd take that because once you have fobre at the house there can be no better. If it's cable (co-ax) to the premises then there may be limits once we get to extremes (IE more than 100Mb/s and yes I know Virgin offer more than that...) but I expect it to still be faster than BT Infinity. But it mostly comes back to £ per Mb/s. Choice of ISP is like anything else, it comes down to personal preference or whichever point of view persuades you the most. I'd avoid TalkTalk though. I have personal experience of BT, Sky, Virgin Cable and one or two smaller (IE you've never heard of them) providers and they are all much of a muchness irrespective of what the shiny marketing ads say...

My advice would be to live with both cars for a while and see how your life pans out. You will only get to know what the right thing is to do by living that life and then make decisions from there. I would follow Dave's advice and just store it on the drive covered up, if there is no rush to make a decision that is. In, say, a years time you will know what you want to do, right now you are just speculating. You are always welcome in the Peak District with your new Cobra as well as in Maverick.

Yep, all of mine have lived under cover on the drive. Hamilton Classic covers are the best I’ve found out of all of them; critically, they do allow the car to “breath” and get rid of the condensation that can occur. This is not an instant process though, so if you’ve seen my build thread at all, you may have noticed that I very publically, (as I’m sure I’m not the first, possibly just the first to be open about it), went to some trouble to treat the Westfield more the way a modern car would be, from a rust prevention point of view. So mine has all the box sections cavity waxed, and the underside and part* of the rear chassis undersealed. As it is, I’m finding I didn’t go far enough, during the current rebuild. Hence the emphasis on the “part”; I’ve always used ACF50 through the winter, but my experience, is that a lot of the horizontal rear chassis surface around the diff cage, that you can’t get at from below, and crucially, can’t see from below, have weathered really badly. In hindsight, the diff cage areas that I left, (I thought underseal would make service etc tricky), I would fully underseal all rear chassis areas now. Part of the problem, (poor quality powder coat aside), is that stored outside, and used over winter, althose horizontal surfaces hold and collect moisture, that doesn’t evaporate quickly like it would in a decent garage. So, in your situation, if you can’t get full underseal in - tricky with all the diff etc in place, and you wanted to use over winter, I would pop the boot box out every few months over winter and reapply ACF50 over everything, this will keep issues at bay. (Note this is if you’re carrying on using the car). Other than that, I always store the car with hood and widescreens in place as a second line defence, and it’s been fine. As far as insurance goes, A Plan and previous companies have had no problem with the on-drive storage, though with the S2000, A Plan did specify a Thatcham approved immobiliser. I use a Sterling Excel, which frankly is completely “invisible” in normal use, so I don’t even notice it’s there, other than by the flashing red led, when it’s armed. (Automatic).

Sounds a great car and welcome . Law is that no photos and it hasnt/ doesnt happen here, so update with photos is very easy. With regards to the gearlever, the nylon ball does come off with the 4 speeds. I managed in my old car to drive 30 odd miles with it on the passenger seat , many moons ago. As for clutch sticking, thats common with cars not used . Good luck with the resurrection and there is plenty of people here with knowledge to help you along !! A good place for bits is Burtons for Ford stuff

Westfield still do the bonnets I have some wings but don't know how to send them without them getting damaged
