Much as I like Chris Harris, he does seem to me to be a bit wooden and the humour rather contrived. Clarkson however is doing what he does best. Stirring it. He knows full well that he can say anything he likes BECAUSE it means people will mention Top Gear and TGT, irrespective of who is presenting. But he has to get what he says noticed so it has to be "controversial". I'll bet he's done more to promote the new series of Top Gear than the Beeb has with that one thing. Don't confuse his "public" persona with anything else and for gawds sake don't take this sort of trolling seriously And I think Paddy and Flintoff will be an absolute unmitigated disaster. It's going to be excruciating, cringe-worthy, car crash (sorry...) TV. Expect Clarkson Hammond and May back on terrestrial TV in short order to save Top Gear, assuming the Beeb actually will want to save it after that. They cancelled it before...

Following that... Then I assume a full custom foam seat for the driver won't be allowed either? (those seats are not secured and basically is like going fully boublewrapped and snugly fitted in the cocpit. The reason I'm asking is FAR away from weight saving. I have all te kit to do one of those, and was planning to do it quite soon, because with a fiberglass seat in the lowest position and rake confortable for me, I'm a bit borderline in the roll hop diagonal to the nose... with the epanding foam seat, I'm winning about 5cm that allow me to sat literally ON THE FLOOR but with an acceptable driving position. (rake, pedal postion, steering wheel...) And, I would really like an straight answer to that, as all my 2019 season preparation starts by sorting the driving position without the expense of a full roll cage. Well, first car after the sale of the westy 8 months ago, I've ticked the Porsche box by getting into a 986.2 2.7 Boxster. It's just arrived so early days but so far I'm impressed by it's build quality, interior, engine noise, turn of pace and pedal position - heel and toe is a breeze.

Anybody after some skirting board :-)

The car at the front hasn't been MOT'd since about 2007 and is now blue! The next one is on sorn, and mot expired last April. Next one I can't find any details of on DVLA, so perhaps written off some time ago? The blue one is now white, and is registered as a Lotus! Oh, and it is still on the road.

When we are happy to allow £20K engines , gearbox casings made from unobtainiun etc then a passenger seat is irrelavant IMHO
