  1. The Mini is all loaded up ready to take to work tomorrow to utilise a nice flat workshop floor. The main job is sorting the spongy brake pedal out. I am taking it to work so that I can utilise the private land to test the brakes and bed the pads. If I get time I hope to swap the seats as well

  2. Another new member joins the club (and boosts the Somerset contingent ) I’ve been on the forum for a couple of months, firstly as a voyeur and recently as a full member. I found my car on here, which I collected on Saturday (more below) Firstly though I have to say that my initial findings of the club are a revelation from my former kit car ownership experiences. There is a wealth of information; the website/forum is easy to use and clearly has been well invested in and maintained; the club magazine is as good as a shop bought publication; and the help of other members/committee has already proved invaluable. I hope to be able to contribute in my own small way; and so to start (as I know you all like them) some pictures from my first journey, the trip back from Shropshire – we took the scenic route over eight hours! Loving the car and hope to meet up with some of you soon. Dave

  6. What DE04* said! Adjustment is at the gearbox end. It’s also quite common practice to adjust it until the release bearing is just contacting the clutch cover. This will shorten its life slightly, though in a Westfield, rather than a daily driver, it’s almost irrelevant! But what it does do is stop a slight rattle that you can get from the Type 9 at idle, in neutral, with no clutch depressed.

  7. If a type9 cable clutch the adjustment is gearbox end 2 x 17mm open ended spanners if I recall correctly. 2 nuts are locked together, undoo them adjust the lock back together it's very easy.

  18. Ditto, good to meet up for a chat with you and your nephew(?) Carl, we get out quite often that way, especially with @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO and the Peak District crew. I know you plan on pulling the engine over winter, but some of us do do carry on through the winter, with just the odd short break off the road where the odd winter upgrade/maintenance demands it, so do keep an eye out on the events section, and you should be able to fit more runs in around your continuing restoration.

  22. Sump kit from Caterham parts. The sump is made by Titan, came direct from Titan in Titan branded wrapping, but Titan aren't allowed to sell direct as they are under contract with Caterham. Gary
