  2. I bought myself a new toy on Friday. Something I’ve always wanted and really pleased with it now I’ve finally got one. I had a 130i before this which at 260bhp I thought was pretty quick but this is in another world to anything I’ve ever been in. Mike

  5. A little more progress earlier today, I completed a couple of the trailing arm forks and trial fitted them to the rear uprights. They just need a coat of paint and then they're finished.

  6. Thankyou everyone for the nice comments. It was a great day and I really enjoyed it. Loved the Buccaneer when it taxied along and then did all the checks etc and also the Dakota with flames coming from its exhaust. Here are a few pictures but I have placed a lot more in our facebook page which can be accessed from the link in my signature. Thanks again to everyone who attended.

  7. Firstly thanks to Geoffrey for organising the day for us. Sorry we didn’t get the opportunity to thank you in person. What a great day. 15 Westfields parked up in one car park! Good to meet up with friends again and meet new people. The food was brill and the warmth in the NAAFI very welcome The Air Museum was excellent and the planes starting up were awesome. Brilliant day. Thanks.

  10. Decided on a few mods to my dash. Replaced the 9 nylocs and bolts with rivnuts to make removing and refitting easier. Swapped the positions of the fuel and oil pressure gauges because when the half tonneau is on, the left hand gauge is obscured and I’d rather run out of petrol than oil. Also swapped the washer and light switches so that wash and wipe are next to each other. Fitted a warning buzzer to the indicators, lowered the steering column by about 10mm. Fitted an oil pressure warning light where the main beam warning was and moved the latter to the left. Fitted the ecu on a drop down tray, held by tywraps, above the passenger footwell. Previously 15mm had been taken off the bottom edge of the dash to improve knee clearance. Finally tidied up the wiring with a few dozen tywraps. Surprisingly, everything works. :-)

  25. Welcome to the Forum! The great thing about these cars is that you can adapt them to suit your tastes. Two years ago I bought a 2001 Megablade, it wasn’t the exact spec I wanted in terms of aesthetics but it was in fantastic condition and had some of the specification I wanted (4 pot brakes, Quaife ATB etc...), over the past two years I’ve spent a little bit of money on it and now it’s exactly how I want! No matter what car you get you’ll love it and make it your own! Get yourself to some of the local meets and see if you can have a ride in a few different models... heres mine when I bought it, and how it looks now...
