  1. Because of my marshalling duties, I was not using my car to the full. Plus the fact that my wife, Rosie was reluctant to be with me in the car (not sure if it was my driving or the fact it wasn't the easiest vehicle to get in and out of!), we also have a VX220 which I've supercharged and thats also not easy to get in and out of. Yes 14 years may be a long time, and I am sure that many of heard the same thing from bystanders "How long did you take to build your Westfield?" Answer: "I'm still building it!" Much enjoyment was found by changing something or other, taking a long look at other Westfields and thinking "That's a good idea!" Yes I intend to still be around, come and say hello when I marshall at Blyton Trackdays and sprints.

  2. Never say never. I sold one kitcar and within months had my westie. I had considered sensible road car alternatives but couldn't go thru with it. Haste ye back.

  3. Recorded season 6 episode 2 last night, stunning Delta Integrale Evo2. Watched it this morning before anyone else was up. Just as well, as I was getting through tissues like a brides mum!

  4. I do this sort of thing at work. Measure, mark it out, measure again, and again, cut smaller than you think, you can always open it up, much more difficult to put it back on, but not impossible. I cut my boot box wrong but put the bit back in and I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice it. In the end, you've just got to bite the bullet and do it!

  5. Hope to be there, but will be in the VX as I've sold my Westfield. Not been able to get to this 'do' before as Blyton marshalling has priority.

  7. Fastest novice is down to all entrants on the day, not just WSCC Speed series, but you certainly stand a very good chance! Rockingham is great, gutted I won't be there but look forward to hearing all about it from those that go.

  9. Just don't put the tape on the area to be cut, with a view to cutting it as well as the fibreglass as it can cause snags etc. I prefer green frog tape to masking tape as it can stay on longer without drying and leaving adhesive to remove etc.

  10. Having just done this I would take the advice of the chaps above, although mine is ZK i had to get the tub as far forward as i could (within reason) to get the rear wheels in the centre of the arches. Only real advice is take your time and measure where it all sits twice. Also..for my exhaust i templated the location of the exhaust without the body on (using some cardboard), then used that afterwards to mark where to cut....which was quite low stress really. Oh and dont forget to position it with the scuttle and bonnet on :-)

  12. Perfect. Arrived before I paid, thanks Marcus. The wife thinks it will look better on the Westie, rather than the coffee table.

  14. Only 8 novices entered this year . I guess this reinforces the importance the SSOT and others, are putting on trying to get more newbies involved At least I will be best novice at Rockingham this weekend!... if I'm lucky!

  16. Sexy Keely blooming Donovan, only came to Chesterfield today in the Sport Relief sofa push, Glen was muttering something about being on the sofa with Keely but I couldn't quite hear what he said. Anyway, she was with Paul Hudson, the other meteorologist, and huff, he is hardly a hunk is he? We are off up to the Yorkshire Dales, to the world of waterfalls, namely Ingleton. Keely and Paul, Look North's weather forecasters in Chesterfield this morning

  17. Thanks For the link , I ordered one and it came yesterday.I put it to the back of the tunnel perfect width any wider and it wouldn’t have gone back far enough. (Mines a wide bodied ) The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the finish , as I have no chrome on the car it just didn’t look right .I had wanted a black one but couldn’t find one the right width and didn’t fancy cutting it. Anyway I had some carbon vinyl so decided to have a go at wrapping in, turned out not too bad The width was 280mm

  18. It will be the last drive on Sunday 25th when I deliver my Westfield that I've had for 14 years to its new owner. Sad for me, but hopefully joy for the new owner who if he has half the fun that I had over the years, it will bring a broad smile. I still intend to stay with one of the best clubs even without a Westfield in the garage.
