Hello all. New member here having just joined and thought I'd introduce myself. I've just completed the purchase of my first Westfield from Andrew at Toybox, and the car is likely to be with me next week. Andrew has made the whole process so easy and relaxed. To say I'm excited is a massive understatement, and I'm sure you all remember that 'Christmas Eve' feeling very well. I've gone for an Electric Blue over black, FW, 2.0 Zetec on Omex TB's with Omex ECU too. Plenty of carbon goodies on this one as well. Looking forward to learning more, getting some experience under my belt, and essentially just having some fun! Steve.9 points

Got out with my mate Damo yesterday, me in the Flying Carrot him in his SDR V-Storm lunatic machine. Went to 5 Zeros Supercars Bradford-On-Avon for lunch, then had a nice shortish blat to Castle Combe race circuit where we drove the perimeter road to meet a mate who was marshaling a bike track day. No great pics but a great day full of laughs and silliness.8 points

An enjoyable day of spannering in the 🌞! An oil and filter change, swapped over the wheels to my silver set and torqued up, checked all the pressures of the ZZR's, refitted the de-cat pipe (MOT was a week ago), replaced the W4 stainless Mikalor exhaust clamp (the old W2 had given up the ghost when I fitted the cat and had the horrible U-bolt type as a quick fix), a 20 minute wash and polish (the joy of Carplan No1 Super Gloss!), quick test drive to Halfrauds for some more glysantin G30 and she's all ready for Kitfest tomorrow. The old jalopy isn't looking too bad, the dailies are looking filthy now though 🤦♂️😂 Before: After:8 points

A small but very select group came today. We drove into the Doddington Hall car park to be met by Chris Emmerson and Mo who were really chuffed by being the first there. This elation was soon misplaced when I introduced them to @Jakejmagee who wondered across having parked in another car park. Good try Chris. Better luck next time 🤪 Breakfast was consumed over some healthy conversation. @Jakejmagee really went for it and had the full English. The rest of us paced ourselves hoping that better was to come. We then moved on to The International Bomber Command Memorial which is well worth a visit. More food was consumed including Sunday lunch by a few of us 😁. Chris, Jake and I then went on the free guided tour which was very enlightening but cold on top a hill overlooking Lincoln city. Clare and Mo were probably the more sensible ones who stayed inside and had another coffee. Photos courtesy of Jake and Chris - thanks. We all then parted having had a good chat and food. Thanks for coming7 points

I am no detailer but this is what i did this year It does not say how you are polishing but i got a cheap DA for XMAS https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hyundai-Polisher-Variable-1500-4500rpm-Polishing/dp/B09SV2R1Q6/ref=asc_df_B09SV2R1Q6/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=570334618003&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10150476833655681978&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006567&hvtargid=pla-1639964677321&psc=1&mcid=d173ac3fd56e32b59161f103a95f2e19&th=1&psc=1 you get all the pads with it. there is a video on you tube that covers how to use it. Based on reviews I used the turtle wax products its called hybrid one and done it cuts and finishes at the same time they do really good deals on their website. I got better at using it the more i got further down the car I then used their spray on flex wax again easy to use and spry it on wipe off. should last 6 months but you can spray it on when drying a washed car to top it up. Happy with the results the car looked the best it has for years. I got out all the swirls. Deeper scratches would need more attention but i was not going to spend ages on it. And any excuse to post a picture ha5 points

Have escaped from the bathroom. I took Glen’s advice and walk mounted the sink without feet. Ali has since taken to wearing steel toe capped slippers whilst brushing her teeth…just in case she says. As for ABCs route, all was good until we crossed the Rio Grande river. I had my fingers crossed that we wouldn’t need to go back across it after Andrews route went somewhat amiss. Thank the heavens for Miss Julie hey Andrew 😊👍4 points

I've recently did my V8 bonnet vents using some mesh and these 3D printed press templates. You can find the 3D model files in my post here, but I appreciate that not everyone has access to a printer or the skills to design something themselves. So I'd like to hereby offer these free of charge to members who can then use them to press bonnet vents in his/hers preferred mesh. All I'm asking is to cover the postage to your address and once you're finished with them, offer them up to the next person under the same terms. @HB46443 has first dibs 👍4 points

Just noticed why you are a clever bloke. The line in the middle of this piece is to make sure the grill is straight when looked horizontal. 🙌 Another made. All three now done. 24 hours under some weight just to humour me really. Onto the next home. @DarrenK please send address by email Darren. Quite proud I kind made something! Although others are sure to comment I’ve always been good at bending things. HB.3 points

Along with an eclectic mix of 80 other cars, participated in Minehead Motor Club’s Spring Tour today. As usual, a very enjoyable ~70 mile run around the country lanes of the Quantock and Brendon Hills on the Somerset/Devon border. As expected plenty of mud and standing water about, at least the ford was shallow! Guess this week I’ll be cleaning the car!3 points

A few years ago the wife sent me to the supermarket for some Brasso. I went into Tesco's and saw a sign above an aisle saying 'Polish'. 'Great,' I thought, 'a whole section of the supermarket devoted to my needs.' Unfortunately not ...2 points

My car is not used on the road just for sprinting and track days so can't really answer your questions, I bought them as they have instant bite with no warm up required which is necessary when sprinting knowing that on the first corner you will have brakes that work.2 points

Hi, with the weather looking awesome, I'm heading to Kitfest tomorrow morning. Sunday will be the bigger show (the Fast Show is there on Sunday) but family commitments rule that out for me this weekend. Just a reminder, NWKCOG have a discount code for tickets (Northwest24) and you can book your ticket here for Saturday or Sunday (or both): https://santapodtickets.com/p/kitfest On Saturday morning, I will be leaving Swadlincote about 745am and heading down the A444 and A5 (avoiding the motorways like the plague!). I will be stopping just off Junction 18 of the M1 (A5/A428 Crick) at in the large layby/DVSA test station on the A428 (NN6 7SL) at about 9am for a 915am departure The What3Words for this layby is: digital.windmill.powder https://w3w.co/digital.windmill.powder I will then be taking the A & B roads down past Ravensthorpe, Brixworth, Sywell Aerodrome etc hoping to land at Santa Pod about 10am. If you are heading that way, feel free to tag along 👍2 points

Hello all, With a heavy heart - I am putting my Westfield SEiW Sport 220 Ecoboost up for sale - Q900VAB. This is solely due to the funding of a personal business of mine, alongside this I haven’t had too much opportunity to get it out of the garage. I purchased the vehicle through a former member and believe the car is well known and has been featured in a couple of magazines prior and was owned by Tim Reid. Since ownership, I have kept the vehicle the same - with regular maintanence. Recently back in February over to Northampton Motorsport for a full head to toe service alongside an MOT. It has been garaged since this period and covered in the garage. This is an absolute beast of a car with an amazing whistle of the turbo and wastegate make this car entertaining to drive and the sheer power can propel the lightweight car to high speed in seconds. At low RPM it can quietly pootle through villages with plenty of low down torque when you need to open it up. Originally a factory built limited edition (14 of 15) SEiW Sport featuring; independent suspension, wide body, detachable rear arches and floor mounted pedals. A registration, so easy to MOT with no emissions testing and no harder to insure than any other vehicle. The last owner owned the vehicle for 14 years prior to myself. Giving it great care and continually improving it. I took it on myself as something to simply enjoy with a hunger for something a little bit crazy! However unfortunately, no track days were had and time spent driving the car has been limited. There was a major rebuild to bring it up to date with a 16 Ecoboost engine (dual variable valve timing system, drive by wire throttle, Direct injection and turbocharged engine from a Fiesta ST180, as standard 220bhp on SCS Delta ECU but it can easily be increased and go up to 400bhp). Mazda N7 (MX5 Mk3) gearbox, AIM digital dash, full Siltech suspension set up including ARBs, micro adjusters, wide track. Big brake kit with bias adjustment, 3 piece image wheels. Lightweight alternatator, battery, bodywork and steering column. Quick release steering wheel, limited slip differential LSD, quick rack, lots of real carbon fibre including a number of customer parts which are extremely rare. The vehicle was weighed in at 584kg down from 740kg but should be a little less - I haven’t had it weighed recently. The previous owner of this really took care and attention to the build and you can feel it in the drive and see from the pictures. And mentioned prior the vehicle was featured in National Kit Car magazine and always gets positive attention wherever you go! Servicing has been done annually regardless of how few miles were driven. Please note the comments on the MOT records: - 1996-2005 = Pre DVLA online records but you can see what’s in the huge folder which will come with the car. - June 2006 = 9343 miles - June 2007 = 10,674 miles - June 2008 = unknown (not read by the MOT tester but 12,000 miles) - July 2009 = new Zetec engine installed at 14,151 miles with new odometer showing 0 miles. MOT shows 16 miles. DVLA informed. - July 2010 = 12,140 (MOT tester misread the odometer! Was actually 1,214 miles as confirmed by subsequent and previous years). - June 2011 = 24,842 miles (MOT tester misread the odometer! Was actually 2,482 miles as confirmed by previous and subsequent years). - July 2012 = 3236 miles - July 2013 = 3982 miles - July 2014 = 4904 miles - July 2015 = 5396 miles - August 2016 = 6214 miles - 2017 off road due to rebuild - 2018 off road due to rebuild - September 2019 - 3 miles due to new Ecoboost engine and Mazda gearbox. DVLA informed. - August 2020 = 382 miles - August 2021 = 1045 miles - 2022 = off road SORN (I believe) - March 2023 = 1508 miles - Vehicle purchased by myself in May 2023 It has now peaked over 2000 miles will need to confirm this and update the advert! However, there is a HUGE arch leaver of every receipt, drawing of wiring loom, pluming diagrams, and the rebuild is published for all to see on WSCC. The car was originally stored in a garage its entire life and had a dehumidifier running for the past 10 years. I have continued on with this since my ownership. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the car itself and I’ll be sure that I answer them for you. I am looking for £16,850.00 o.n.o. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact. Viewings can be arranged if serious buyer.2 points

Thank you @AndrewBClarke for a great day out and for leading the run, that massive lamb dinner must be good fuel 😁, it meant we could get some rare photo's of our car from the front, thank you Sue @Andy Westwood. Great to meet you @Mark zawada and really glad you felt welcomed into our mad area. Watch out for @ianali they have photo's of the three point turn, Andrew got us to the right village but at the wrong end 😮, don't mention it though will you 😁 We went to the 'Member's Only Meet' at the museum first and made some new friends. Have you noticed, nobody has just 1 car😄 Car museum Car museum Lunch break Mark's wheels that we were drooling over. Toybox have plenty more of them for sale apparently. I hit the 70,000 mile mark on my odometer as we were travelling along today. That means I have driven 60,000 miles in a Westfield, yeah. On the move Great to see everyone and thanks for the laughs xxxx2 points

I have a training session in the morning, but I'll message you as soon as I'm done to see if I can get over to see you all!1 point

Just took the car for its MOT. All good, running really sweetly too. No issues with emissions nonsense, thankfully, despite the system seeming to want to do them. Tester just ignored that section, given it is a Q plate.1 point

Thanks for that Julie, we should be able to create a nice itinerary from that. I'll try to keep a record of what we do and where we go. Ian, yes we will be in the Westy. We generally just have days out which is not really using the car enough. Last year we did the Lakes and will be doing a road trip each year.1 point

I tried calling tuesday and yesterday and today a number of times if you press 1 you just keep getting the good old answer phone So i pressed 2 and somebody answered straight away Nick who apparently works in parts and he was very surprised when i told him about how i keep getting the anwser phone but if I'm honest i just got the impression he didnt want to speak to me in person it was please send an email 😡 Rule number 1 in business when you have somebody on the phone wanting to part with money try your very best to take there money because as soon as they put the phone down they will be looking to buy the same part from elsewhere. I'm really notsure i can be bothered to send emails backwards and forwards just to buy a simple part . Bring back Patrick and Jase the old parts boys them could smell a debit card from 100 yards away and would never let you put the phone down or leave the factory without trying to get you to spend as much as possible And Pat worked out over a 3 year period I had spent just over £120k with the factory mainly in parts just before he left you cannot even spend £20 with them these days Rant over happy Thursday 😊 😃1 point
