New Stoneleigh Show 2026- The Replica and self build Festival

Speaking of which, has the club seen the 'preview' of the Westfield press releases that Nigel Trilk promised at Malvern?

New Stoneleigh Show 2026- The Replica and self build Festival

Given the current state of the world, there's always a chance next year won't go ahead! But that aside, Malvern is currently going ahead as normal. Could that change, of course, but there's no current indication it will, and it remains firmly on the books.

    Carbon rear arches

No, I've not seen another one in the last 4 years or so. Mine is registered as 2014 but no idea when the actual body was made.
  5. Is there a chance Malvern won't go ahead next year?

  9. I see Westfield are listed which can't be a bad thing. My worry is that if the manufacturers have decided to go here will they want to go to Malvern as well and what will that mean for the show there ?

Sorry forgot to put a price on this £450
  15. If it goes ahead and if admission with a kit car is free, I might well attend simply because I live 5 miles away from Stoneleigh. As @Steve G. said, access to the showground is not fantastic right now with HS2 works but the new flyover and slip road might be completed by then. Having said that, new ventures usually struggle to survive. Shows tend to live on the nostalgia of previous shows at a particular venue, especially if it’s centrally located with relatively easy access. Malvern is undoubtedly more scenic than Stoneleigh, but not as simple to get to. I wish them well, but I don’t have my hopes up.

New Stoneleigh Show 2026- The Replica and self build Festival

Yeah “free” trade stands! (Not that attendance is actually free for manufacturers, given all the ancillary costs of attending and displaying). But given how the previous shows have been struggling to attract an audience, and to make ends meet financially, it’ll be interesting to see how they intend to break even, let alone a profit. Where is the shows revenue stream going to come from? Most kit owners, who let’s face it, for years actually are 90% of the show expect to pay nothing for entry with their cars, or a small token payment at best. And I’m not sure how big the attendance pool is for none owners any more, it’s shrunk massively over the decades.
  17. I don't understand either to be honest. The last few times I have been to Stoneleigh for Race Retro I haven't been impressed, the rail link has just messed things up and it's hard work getting in. I wonder if the organisers are trying to run things in such a way it's more attractive for traders to go along. I'm guessing they haven't been talking to car clubs so perhaps it's just a trade show.

New Stoneleigh Show 2026- The Replica and self build Festival

Some screen shots would have helped! 😉 I've found this- https://www.totalkitcar.com/2025/07/10/exciting-news-brand-new-show-for-2026-announced/ Doesn't make sense to me. The Malvern show is shrinking and setting up rival shows isn't going to help the situation. Despite having to travel further to Malvern than Stoneleigh, it's a better show ground. Holding this show at the start of the summer school hols could reduce likely attendance too.

    New to Westfields

That's a really good idea. At the moment I'm quite keen to buy something from Andrew at ToyBox cars in Lount. I'm guessing ToyBox is quite well known in this group? I do have a plan for buying from a private seller as well. The guy I use for transporting cars up and down the country is a retired mechanic. I've used him a number of times now, and I'm hoping that if I ask him nicely he'll do an inspection for me too.
  20. I spotted some posts on FB about a new kit car show at Stoneleigh next year. Seems a bit odd to put on another one when the Newark show has been cancelled.

    Recent snap of your Westfield

after completing front & rear end upgrade to new Protech & Powerflex, wanted to have the geometry checked & set up to make sure I’m pointing in the right direction. In stepped @Maurici- CleaR Motorsport Thank you Maurici for the service with the bonus of an A-Road drive thru Staffs/Shrop & Cheshire to test it on the way home - happy days 🤩🙏🫶🏼
  23. What brilliant weather we all enjoyed. Just the right temperature and warm late into the evening allowing a no jumper drive home. Good variety of cars and excellent pizzas. Great to see @Chris Emm, @Jakejmagee and the return of @MattV in the aptly named ‘Jaffa’. Ant Gilbert has swapped his Westy for a python green Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 - stunning and also quite clean 😁. Photos below are from Ant and I’ll post more when @Jakejmagee posts on FB and I can copy them! Some of my photos -

  27. Is the Dick Mayo Sprint at Castle Combe on Saturday 26th July 2025 still a round of the Speed Series? As Bristol Motor Club who are running the event do not show the Speed Series in the list of championship rounds for the event.
  28. I bought this as a donor for one of the MX5 based kitcars , quantum,mk,gbs evocet, Tipo184 but a medical problem means I an unable to continue possibly for up to a year so I have had to change my plans. The car is a 1998 (first reg 29/5/98) 1.8 5 speed and has done 36.000 miles (parked up with a starting fault for several yrs . new fuel pump fixed it ) and is a low spec car so no aircon ,abs , electric mirrors so much easier to strip down for kit car use . three keys and matching ecu/immobiliser . A few parts not used in Kitcars have been sold ( lights, trim pieces radio, speakers) there are a set of fox alloys and a space saver tyre included more pictures available V5C in my name showing 2 previous owners Car is in north cardiff £800 or open to offers
