TEL's TALE's 058/2016 Rockingham March 2016 So here we go for the 2016 speed series which has a good number of entries despite the enforced MSA changes to roll over bars, cages, tyres etc. Class F seems to be well supported and this years sees a few more in single seaters or having sold their Westfields. TEL's TALE's 060/16 Croft 28th March 2016 Easter Monday is always Croft sprint so most of us got loaded up on Sunday. I managed it just before we had thunder and lightening and a massive hailstorm so things did not look good for the morning. TEL's TALE's 060/16 3 Sisters 10th April 2016 The weather alll week was wet and cold so it was promising to have a good forecast for the Sunday event. TEL's TALE's 067/16 Aintree 25/06/16 Introduction Well Aintree is not one of my favourite tracks since I went bike engined a few years a go. With only 69 ft lbs of torque and a long, long straight its hard to get good terminal speed especially if there is a headwind......and guess what we had one so target times were going to to be very very difficult. Tel's Tales 070/16 Curborough Figure of 8 27th Aug 2016 With a late entry for Pete Goulding in his Mygale FF single seater there were 6 of us compared to last year's 8. This ws probably due to the clash with the Loton hillclimb weekend and LDMC's Harewood event on Sunday. TEL's TALES 071/16 Ty Croes weekend 1st/2nd Oct 2016 The third visit of the season and the climax of our speed series saw 22 competitors plus Dave Cleaver who was tyre testing. Rockingham 26 March 2017

Tels’s Tales Rockingham 26th March 2017   Well what a way to start my season! Spent most of the winter putting spare engine in and doing several other mods so hoped for a good shakedown but my clutch failed to work after convoy sighting run. I was not too pleased to say the least but Steve offered me a double drive in his car so at least I would get out on track. TEL's TALES 04/17 Ty Croes, Angelsey weekend 29th/30th April 2017     This event was run by MG car club (NW) with 2 laps of the National circuit on Saturday and 1 lap of the International on Sunday. TEL's TALES 06/17   3 Sisters 21st May 2017       As most of you know the future management/liquidity of the Three Sisters venue (or parts of it) are under review and it is to the credit of Longton DMC that they managed to keep this event on. Tel’s Tales Harewood weekend and Blyton  Sept  2017 Saturday This year the popular Harewood weekend was a little later than normal but still attracted 15 speed series competitors. Tel’s Tales Rockingham Sunday 25th March 2018 So the miserable cold wet winter “closed” season was over and it was a return visit to the fast circuit at Rockingham. Tel’s Tales Anglesey May weekend  2018 The second visit to Anglesey this year was arranged by MGCC (NW) and was 2 laps of the National circuit on Saturday and 1 lap of International on Sunday with 9 Westfield drivers on Sat and 8 on Sunday. Blyton Sat/Sun 11th/12thAug 2018 On Thursday I was in shorts and T shirt as I got my car ready for the weekend run by Longton and District Motor Club who had a very small entry but the event still went ahead. Tel’s tales – Harewood weekend 15thand 16thSept 2018 This weekend saw the speed series visiting god’;s own county of Yorkshire and sample the local weather which once again was windy and at times wet as well as a little chilly. It’s the only hillclimb Steve  and I do as its only 30 mins away and on  the doorstep. For those that have not driven it Harewood is the longest hillclimb in the country and notoriously difficult to get a good time as there are several places to get the corner wrong

Tel's Tales Harewood 2019

Harewood 6th& 7thJuly 2019   Once a year the speed series circus visits God’s own county to tackle the longest hillclimb in the country at Harewood. I have to report that the weather was fantastic on both days with both sun and warm weather despite a few threatening clouds so our decision to move the event to July rather than September seemed to pay off. Curborough 24thAug 2019   Whilst the drivers who liked hillclimbs travelled to Loton Park a few of us entered the sprint at Curborough to tackle the favoured Figure of 8. The is by far the best layout but it does take a lot of time to get through the cars and with a full entry there was a lot of hanging around between runs in the blazing heat of the sun….and boy was it HOT. 3 Sisters Sunday 12st Sept 2019 Following the last few really hot weeks the weather was taking a change as we approached the first day of Autumn (1/9/19). Knockhill Sprint Sept 2019-09-09 Well I am back from a most amazing weekend in sunny Scotland having attended the 2 day sprint.
