Quinten Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I know it's an old thread, and for fear of being accused of playing for the other team, but after just gone through 50 pair of ECP supplied disposable nitrile gloves in less than a winter, I'm looking for a better nitrile glove. Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Aldi sell some decent workshop gloves quite regularly. They're the knitted type with a rubber coating. I use them when I'm doing less delicate work. They seem to last quite a while before the finger tips start to disintegrate and they still work with a touch screen phone. I also use my old mountain biking gloves, which are basically the same thing. As long as they're a good fit, I have no issues with fiddly work. XTR2Turbo Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 At the shows I normally pick up a box of blue nitrile gloves that I use for dirty stuff and a pack of the 10 woven gloves that I use for normal work. Quinten Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I'm not looking for the knitted/dipped type of gloves, just a good disposable one. @XTR2Turbo, the ones I bought were 'medium' but really a little bit too tight for my delicate hands, so maybe that's the reason they tear so easily. But when I do mucky , oily jobs, I use nitrile gloves and being the wife works at a private dentists, she has found a few boxes out of date, so instead of being binned, they are in my workshop. DamperMan Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I had a young engineer working with me a few years back. I bought it was a bit Brighton, when he asked if we could order some gloves. He'd used a particular Hyflex glove when working for a Porsche specialist. Anyway I found them really good. I mostly don't bother but, when I do I like them a lot. I class that as a Hove moment rather than full on Brighton moment. The feel and grip is really good. I forget I'm wearing them. In a cold day it's nice also. The tops of the fingers and hand is fully breathable. On really oily stuff they do get saturated, but they machine wash with my overalls, and reuse mine. Not cheep but very good. I've never torn one but they do develop holes when welding!
