Until this week the total stood at 54. Then I saw the entry list for the 1980 Mindbender Rally, a road rally in North Wales. I drove a white 1300 Mk1 Escort Sport on that event, but the entry list showed a 1300 Mk1 Escort, purple. I had forgotten about that car, no doubt due to the colour, but I've now updated my list. Cooper 970S - grenade engine, turned into shrapnel. 1300 Escort Sport - rolled on the way home from the pub, with the wife. Mini 998 - rolled on the way to work, long story. Hillman Avenger - altercation with a Lada in the snow. 1500 Escort - rolled in Clocaenog, Cestrian Rally. 1293 Cooper S - lady driver, but I had right of way. XR2 - too many miles, not enough oil. Vauxhall Victor FE - stolen, but why? Lots of stories and memories, only three remain at the moment, two Westfields and a Ford Kuga. Died on a 12 car rally. Loved this car. Scrapped 1989 mk 3 cav 1.7td bought cheep to replace previous cav. Sold 1997 vectra 2.0 d after 2 weeks injection pump went. Dismaied with a £1500 pump cost, and reprogramming I fitted an other tried and tested 1.7td... scrapped after head on with blind taxi driver. 2001 vectra 2.0dti Sold 2007 Seat Altea Sold 2014 bmw 320d touring current. intetesting cars 1972 reliant scimitar owned 15 years. Essex preplaced with 1.7 td Vauxhall’s/ Isuzu engine.... then again with bmw 2.5 td engine. Loved this car.. Sold aston Martin DBS 1969. Bought as project while still cheep. Almost knocked my garage down with it. Wife got pregnant.sold it again for same money ..3k. Simular condition make 35-40know! Guited. vw T25 caravelle converted to camper van still have it.
