Donnington Track Day

Mole

Recommended Posts

I am looking at doing a couple of days this year at Donnington as I found it my favourite track last year. Is anyone else thinking of doing any days there? I am looking at what is available and always good if a few Westies are there...

So if anyone has dates in mind please put them forward..

I did Donington in Nov last year and really enjoyed the high speed corners. I'm up for it again this year.

You best get an airbox before venturing to donnigton mate.

That is the problem with Donny, the 98db drive by. A lot of Westys struggle to get under it..

I was at Donington last Friday for a trackday (not in the westfield).

Three drive by noise points.. they were very strict on noise, a couple of people were warned. one went home the other had to modify his exhaust.

That's what puts me off, its an expensive day to get kicked out of.

The Ford RS owners do an annual 105db day.. I've done a couple of them. First one was OK, but the second was not so good.. They're sessioned days, and it's a bit of a lottery who's in your group. The second day had far too many red flags caused by loonies! Around £150 though, so cheap for a noisy day..

After Caldwell, i vowed never to do a ‘hot hatch special’ day!

Oh I agree.. but my religion prevents me from paying nigh on £400 for an open pitlane noisy day at Donny. ;) BAT 12th June, unsilenced £375.. :t-up:

Maybe I’ll pop down for a noise test, it’s not far from me.

I think they'd do a static noise test for you Russ, but it's the drive by that you've got to worry about. I've done plenty of 98db days in the past, and it's surprising what's OK and what's not..
