Problems with the road network

I would like to see passing in any lane as the case in other countries. I hear the comment about a lack of training and awareness making it dangerous. But I've been hearing that comment for 30 yrs ie ample time for training and awareness campaigns and a chance to catch up on Germany for instance.

My point is different.  On the M25 cars stream through ignoring red crosses.

As the gantries have cameras I don't see why they are not being flashed

Cameras are not on the gantries now for the M25 in a lot of places now

Not sure these can differentiate between lanes for lanes closed with crosses.

They can pick up a car for speed, can't be that hard to enable for a red cross on a lane

Thanks for all the comment really useful

Thought i would leave it a couple of days to get the general feel off everyone. Even this morning some of the comments have been used to answer questions that have been posed by one of the boards i sit on.

Regards Red X enforcement this will be happening on sites with the above cameras but as with many things the tech is there to do it but making sure everything is in place to meet the requirements for the evidential trail for enforcment and prosecution are being finalised. These will be enforcing red X abuse in the next few months.

Cheers
