C20XE SEIW Sprint//Very fast road Ready to go

Recommended Posts

Well. Time comes to sell my beloved Westfield. The car will be sadly missed but Looks like I’m not going to give it too much use in a future.

So, let’s start with the usual bulls***…

The last two owners have been two very carefully lady drivers:

1.jpg.33633042dad3da09dba8fd87c7c64824.jpg

She has been never driven hard in track.

2.jpg.d61de78390bdeb43c8a0cd758e7f4c16.jpg

The car has never gone off the road.

3.jpg.160140906dbdbb760d17eb6cc32e45c3.jpg

The car has never crashed.

Ok. Now, after this disclaimer that probably will attract the real public for this car, and push away who are expecting a garage queen, we can actually start the real AD. This is a very serious Weapon for sprinting that will put you on the front of any roadgoing class, and will put you in a decent position to fight with the “sticky tyres” classes if you wish, while still being a Joy to drive on the road.

Car is freshly rebuilt (fresh engine, most of the bodywork, and a full strip and chasis clean in the last few months).

Ex CleaR motorsport//AdamR car. Well known and successful car in the Speed Series with both driving.

Chasis:

1995 SEIW chassis.

- Westfield widetrack front suspension.

- Westfield aluminium front uprights.

- Westfield aluminium rear uprights.

- Westfield aluminium hubs.

- Custom developed front and rear anti-roll bars, will supply all the calculations and chassis setup spreadsheets with the car.

- Protech single adjustable shocks front and rear, valved for the car and balanced in pairs. One rear shock is brand new following a leak developing.

- 300lb/in front and 185lb/in rear springs, both 2.25" (wheel rate 1.69Hz front and 1.86Hz rear with 85kg driver). I found these to be a very good compromise - soft enough for the road, stiff enough for track use.

- Front shocks have two bump stops fitted to prevent the sump grounding out on even the nastiest rolling bumps.

- Raceleda R16 (same as Wilwood Dynalite) 4 pot front calipers with Ferodo DS1.11 pads. These are race pads and need a little heat to work. Pedal force required to lock the wheels is high - in the region of 55kg, which approximately three times that of a normal road car, but the feedback and modulation of the braking system is superb due to this. Heel and toe downshifts are a dream and the pedal positions can be adjusted if necessary.

- Custom made cooling ducts, which can be easily removed if desired.

- Grooved solid 247mm front disks.

- Sierra rear calipers and solid discs, with Apec pads.

- Twin master cylinders with dashboard operated brake bias adjuster, using a custom converted top mount pedal box (note the gaffer tape is only there to seal some gaps to appease a scrutineer).

- Throttle pedal is deliberately long travel to ensure great feel in all weather conditions.

- Heel rest to prevent kangaroo-ing over bumps when on partial throttle.

- Reinforced rear diff cage.

- Playskool full lightweight cage with padding.

- 2.4 quick rack with solid mounts.

Bodywork:

Some of the panels have been recently replaced and are mint. Some others not that mint.

All the panels are held with cable ties allowing a VERY fast removal of the full bodywork for easy acces.

-Carbonmods nose cone. Pretty battered, but still usable.

-Carbon mods front wings. In a decen shape

-Mikmade front splitter. Pretty battered again, but usable.

-Mickmade carbon flared arches. Brand new and inmaculated

-Mickmade carbon rear wings. Brand new and inmaculated

-JK composites seats with 6 points scrotch harnesses.

-Reverier carbon steering wheel.

 -Carbon mods indicator pods.

- Carbon mods dash.

- Carbon mods aeroscreen.

- Carbon mods scuttle top

 -Policarbonate sump floor

Engine:

CleaR motorspotr built C20XE engine with ARM head, with less than 500 miles. SUPER reliable. Usual SBD bits inside, with ITB, pistons, rods, drysump, simpson exhaust, incredible good cooling system, low oil pressure cut-off, exhaust gas temperature readings, all  managed by a K3 ECU... pulling 256HP in the flywheel for 580kg with massive amount of torque. This engine, if well maintained and monitored, should last years and years and years. Even being a race engine, is not a fragile base, and is not pulled as its max mechanical stress… (Yes, I know everybody says that, but in that case is true. This engine is a rock)

BHG Type 9 Heavy duty gearbox with alloy bellhousing and 3.92 sierra rear diff with LSD.

The specification of the whole car is that massive, that I can’t simple go through it here.

There is a pretty comprehensive ammounts of spares:

Brand new MICKmade Carbon nose cone

Brand new MICKmade Carbon front splitter

Brand new Fiberglas extra wide rear arches.

Some side panels, usables in the even that the worst happens…

A full STD engine splitted in pieces. Block is rusty outside, but all in pretty good condition.

Clutch cables, belts, rods, a wishbone…

Also available by separate negotiation are 4 sets of wheels, some with trackday slicks, some with road semislicks some with supersoft sticky toyos for sprint and a set of full wets.

A covered trailer just finished and taylor made to the westy is available also on a separate negotiation.

10.jpg.f68e6177a32b5305912dacd2fbb1ad8f.jpg

The car is ready to hit the 2018 Sprint season, and with all would be a pretty comprehensive package.

Car won’t be cheap, Asking price is £15.000, for a full ready car that will last ages. For less than this, car will be stored for as long as it takes. Yes, is expensive, but try to find this package, ready to hit the track with all the spares to rebuild a new engine if needed and almost a full bodywork for less… You won’t. Agreed value of the car with my current insurer of £16K

Contact me by PM and I’ll be more than happy to put together more information VIA phone or mail along with all required pictures.

Maurici are you sure you aren't going to regret this?

It is a very competitive package for anyone wanting to enter the Speed Series, or indeed some other sprint or hillclimb series.

Im sure I will. Indeed. But looks like man's life isnt made only by car stuff... and also looks like my car time is going to take a long standby. Life and work commitments will stop me to compete and I dont need this massove package for the odd trackday.

After a first viewing on sunday, where the prospective buyer seemed pleased with the car itself, but thought that was an step too far for what he was looking for, I Just want to remark what you are going to find...

And is a roadlegal Race Car, capable (soft and high enought) to be driven very pleasently on the road, and capable of long trackdays with reliability... but it is a motorsport focused thing, not really your sunday driver or your average trackday hack... Please, be aware of that  along with the engine power figures when booking a viewing...

Of course loads of people use cars like this only for trackdays and road driving exclusively (in fact when I bought it it was mainly a trackday and road hack), but being brutally honest, If you don't have the inclination to compete in some point, or to be the fastest guy of your local trackday... I think there is better options around. I just want to avoid people wasting their time driving to mines to find that... "oh, is actually a race car".

I want to add, that if someone is tight in budget, price can be arranged, taking out all the spare carbon and steeering wheel and so... but leaving in essence the same car.

Oh yes. Loads of excuses available indeed... I bought the book  "sprint driver excuses handbook"

Sprint driver excuse number 1... Marto's car is lighter.

Sprint driver excuse number 2... Marto is smaller, so he is also lighter

Sprint driver excuse number 3... This tyres are too sticky. I can't go sideways.

Sprint driver excuse number 4.... Marto's new engine is ilegal (whatever you are fitting, it will have loads of hidden cigarrettes, for sure).

There is about hundred pages.
