Kev has a video of huge sideways save at the bottom of the mountain - I will try to find a link

And how muddy were the “pits” or “shove the punters here” area ?

Here’s my shoes a day later

Yup not as scary looking in the video :getmecoat:

i thought it was gonna be my first big off on a track day however :suspect:

That would have felt horrendous in car.. well held, could have been nasty. My car was sort of skipping sideways through the standing water, felt a bit like tram lining.. it doesn't show on the videos at all.

My car felt horrendous until I was kindly advised to soften the suspension.

Then it was so much better!

My feet were soaked before we'd even got the sighting laps out of the way.

I think the technical term for the way your car was handling is a "Cow on roller skates" :)

I know! It really put me off for the morning until we softened it off and it was so much better!

I just admit I really enjoyed the morning in the wet. I felt I really got to learn the track at my own pace as there were less people out there. I did a fair few laps in the morning

A fair few laps! That’s an understatement.

I felt really unhappy in the morning and only wish I’d realised my set up was so far out earlier.

Had a great time in the afternoon though.

Lol I did 35ish before dinner. Less in the afternoon because of the queue to get out there

And the bl**** red flags!

I had an instructor session at 1pm that was red flagged 3x times before we could string more than two laps together.

Curious as to what tyres you guys were using in the morning wet session ??

For the wet morning I was using second hand, five or six year old race wets. They were spot on when it was actually raining, but after lunch when the track started to get less wet (not exactly dry!) I think the lads on 1B Toyos etc were on more appropriate rubber.

don't ask :getmecoat:

no surprise but the 888r were useless on the standing water but were pretty good on a damp track
