dombanks
Has anyone had it where their road tax has jumped? I pay mine by direct debit and its just renewed so I checked how much it would be and this year is 252! I know there is a 5% surcharge but that would still make it >200 which im sure it wasn't a few years back.
Kingster
Last year mine was £20.13 a month and has gone up a bit this year to £20.56. So not a huge hike.
Quinten
£20.12 last year, £21.43 this year. All per monthly direct debit.
Steve (sdh2903)
Why the difference? Surely everyone over the 1549cc should be paying the same?
Kingster
Might be when you set up the direct debit - if they base it on 12 months tax up front divided by 12 plus a bit for monthly option?

Exactly this. The direct debit is only a convenient way of paying for it. The amount is determined when you start the road tax, and for how long you take it out for.
