griffith500user Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 I've just rejoined the group having had a sabbatical for 4 years whilst owning a mk2 escort rally car. Sold the escort this week with the intention of buying another westfield. My last westfield ended up with a dry sump Swindon powered Vauxhall XE in it which I installed and posted about on the site, great car. My quandary is, whether I look at something very similar to go back to or whether I should consider either a Megabusa or a V8. Never having had anything to do with either of those two cars I'm a little unsure as to which would suit me the best. Previously I had used my westfield for the occasional 40 mile trip to work on a sunny day, Hillclimbs and the thought of the odd track day. I guess nothing has changed really, but I'd like the next car to tick all the right boxes. Budget is <£12k, so I'm looking to you guys for some suggestions. With very different "feel" to the driving, ultimately, you're going to need "bum on seat" time to decide, it's one of those things where you'll prefer one type over the other, no matter how great an example you're driving. Kingster Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 It's funny - I love my current Westy (185bhp Zetec) but keep thinking that if ever I built (or bought) another it would either be a Busa or a V8. I love bikes, and so a bike engine would be a load of fun and close to my heart - but the noise and grunt of a V8 is so appealing, in a complete opposite end of the spectrum kind of way.
