  1. I am after a carbon exhaust silencer and link pipe for a zetec. I do currently have a stainless cat version that may also be up for grabs, cheers.
  2. Morning all, its been a while since I took the cables off and I didn't take a picture. Can anyone help with the correct location for both starter and alternator? Additionally, on the starter motor end, where does the earth from the chassis bolt to? Is it through the bell housing caphead bolt or to the hex head that goes into the block?
  3. I'm planning on running a Zetec 1.8L (silver top) with the standard Ford fuel injection system and the Westfield Zetec air filter and kidney intake (http://parts-shop.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=214). Can canybody suggestion an appropriate, reliable, fuel pump? Thx, A
  4. Hi I'm after some engine mounts for Zetec Silvertop. I think that the N/S (passenger side) engine mounting bracket is interchangeable (with the Blacktop?) but the O/S (driver side) one isn't, so if you have upgraded to a blacktop and have this going spare i'd be interested in just the O/S or full set if you changed the lot? Thanks Andy
  5. Hi Chaps. I am in the process of replacing my Ford Silvertop engine with a new Blacktop unit on my Westy. I have for sale the cylinder head from my Silvertop. Item Description: - Cylinder Head removed from a Ford 1.8L Zetec Silvertop Engine. - This includes valves & spring assemblies (Tappets also available) - I cannot fully verify the age and mileage of the source engine , as this was already on the car when I purchased my Westy. - The engine that this head was removed from, was burning oil / smoking. - Although this was rooted to scored cylinder bores, it is possible that the valve stem oil seals may have also contributed to the oil consumption (I do not think so, but I simply do not know for certain) Price: £55 or reasonable offers. Location: Gillingham, KENT Delivery: Pick up only as it is too heavy & expensive to ship. I am happy to deliver in the Medway area of KENT only. If you need more info, feel free to call me on 07881 655 878.
  6. So, I have just bought a Westfield with a standard 2.0 silvertop on Weber alpha and I also have left over from another project (Mk2 Escort) a complete ST170 ALDA engine, stripped and in the process of being rebuilt. All the rwd escort parts that I have accumulated aside, I have a pair of new Ultimate Road Piper cams ground for VVT delete and a VVT delete kit from the States. I have a set of ARP rod bolts and a Jenvey inlet manifold. Question is, should I carry on with the complete engine build and swap the whole engine straight out, or is it an easier job to swap heads only. I know the ST has a stronger bottom end using better quality materials and under piston lubrication, but is it worth going to that length? The only other thing I've heard is that the silvertop block doesn't share the same bolt pattern for cam tensioning as the blacktop but will this cause me a problem? Answers on a postcard please..
  7. Hi I'm hoping somebody can answer a quick query i have regarding the standard zetec wiring loom. Where the 3 connectors connect to the main chassis loom I appear to have a 4th connector which I'm not sure what it is used for any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi Chaps. I am in the process of replacing my Ford Silvertop engine with a new Blacktop unit on my Westy. I have for sale the alternator + bracket from my Silvertop. Item Description: - Alternator removed from a Ford 1.8L Zetec Silvertop Engine. - I cannot fully verify the age and mileage of the source vehicle that alternator was taken (as this was already on the car when I purchased it) - But it is in full working order. - Ford Number: 92AB-10300-FB. Sorry I do not have the FINIS code. - Bracket included (both the main bracket + tensioning arm) - The geared nut is not available (only a few pounds to buy) + isolator bushes on the bracket are worn and ideally should be replaced. Price: £25 + delivery cost Pick up welcome and I am happy to deliver to Gillingham / Rainham, KENT If you need more info, feel free to call me on 07881 655 878.
  9. Westfield SEIW 2 LITRE ZETEC After a lot of soul-searching, i’ve decided to let the Westfield go. I’ve owned the car for the last ten years, but recently hasn’t been getting the use it should and I’d rather it went to a good home and got the use it deserves. It’s a well presented and specified car that would make an ideal first Westfield, or a solid upgrade for an existing owner. The car incorporates a blend of practical and safety upgrades, making the car equally at home on road or track. Car is advertised here, before it goes on the usual sites. The car: Registered on a ‘Q’ plate in August 2000 WSCC members car Folder of receipts etc. Build manual and photo CD 19,448 miles 12 Months MOT with no advisories Engine/Transmission: Ford 2 litre Zetec (16v) Twin Weber 45 DCOE carburettors (5 progression hole modified for smooth power delivery) Weber Alpha ECU Scholar baffled sump and modified oil pick-up pipe Westfield stainless repackable sports exhaust Engine tuned and mapped by Troy at Northampton Motorsport Ford MT75 gearbox Westfield quick shift Ford Sierra LSD Disc brakes front and rear with plenty of life in them Fully adjustable poly bushed AVO shock absorbers and coil springs MOCAL oil catch tank Body: Westfield SEIW bodywork in Chrome Yellow with detachable rear arches and ducted nosecone Westfield Chrome Yellow aeroscreen Clear lenses front and side Westfield carbon lookalike rear arch protectors Westfield sports seats Sabelt 3” 4 point harnesses RAC type rollbar (with detachable stays) Westfield lockable bootbox Heater 12v socket Momo Team 280mm steering wheel Thatcham grade 2 immobiliser High level brake light 15x7 Raceline Alloy wheels in graphite grey with locking nuts and fitted with Toyo R888 medium compound tyres with plenty of tread Waxolyed chassis Original windscreen with side doors, hood and wiper motor will be included should the new owner wish to revert back to the original windscreen setup. 10. Hi Guys, I am new to the forum so please bear with me if this question has come up again. I have a Westfield SEW fitted with an MT75 Gearbox which I have owned for 18 months. I am in the process of replacing a Ford 1.8L Zetec Silvertop Engine (burning oil) with a brand new Ford 2.0L Blacktop unit. In the process of doing so, I have noticed the flywheel is heavily exposed at engine / bell housing interface (See photos below). I want to shield this when I fit the my engine to prevent grit, dirt and water getting into my new clutch / flywheel assembly. Having done some literature search, I understand a sandwich plate was available through the Ford Dealer network (FINIS 6559240) but having contacted my local dealer, it appears that this has been discontinued. I am looking for advice on whether you are aware of any other place to source such a sandwich plate ? If not new, even a second hand one that I can recondition? Ofcourse last resort would be to make one up, but I would prefer to avoid flaffing around making templates and cutting sheet metal. Any ideas? Thank you.
  11. Can anyone advise please? I have a 2L Zetec, an early version purchased in 1998 from Raceline. The head is described as a Silvertop and it is standard, casting number 958MR-6090-CC on exhaust face. I wish to fit a later Blacktop which I have, casting number XS76090AC. The later head has marginally larger valves and will be the basis for further mods. Externally the heads do look very similar but not identical and nothing that can't be modified to suit I think. However are the water ways, oil ways etc the same? Has anyone undertaken this alteration and aware of any problems please?
  12. Hi all, my home made water rail has failed and wanted to replace it this winter and wondered if any one has a system surplus to requirement. Engine is a stock zetec 2.0lt blacktop. Thanks Craig

  14. I've developed a problem post the main positive lead coming adrift from the alternator at Blyton. It "could" be an ECU issue, given that there was ample opportunity for the loose positive lead to short. Engine is 2.0l Dunnell Zetec injection. I've had the TPS off and cleaned it, put it back, reset the TPS via the Dunnell ECU, tweaked the TPS mounting and the idle screw and it's running like a dream, drives very well across all gears and styles apart from... when I get to around 4600 revs it bogs down completely, kind of like a rev limiter but much, much rougher and kinda scary. Get past the 4600 or so and it's all back to normal smoothness. Will do it under load, can't replicate it at standstill. So... any ideas...? Was thinking, and some have suggested, fuelling, but then how come it picks up again once pushed through the 4600? I can't do much with the Dunnell ECU, there must be a map and I guess it's "hidden" to me or if not an EPROM has got goosed maybe? Apart from the ECU map goosed at 4600 I'm a bit stumped hence looking for more ideas please...
  15. I have a zero miles since build Zetec 2.0 engine with Dunnel Option 3 kit (212-223bhp) as per here http://www.dunnellengines.com/zetec_carb_optionkits_3.php The block was acid dipped and fully inspected and uprated Dunnel rod bolts installed when the engine was built by local motorsport mechanic. As mentioned, this has not been run since the build so is basically like new. Also comes with Dunnel shallow wet sump, Raceline water rail, lightweight motorsport alternator, 45 DCOE’s, Dunnel ECU and loom, custom exhaust manifold for Westfield, spare standard Zetec 2.0 engine. £3500 o.n.o.
  16. Hi all, Looking to go down a different route with my Westfield 7 SE build so I have a zero miles since build Zetec 2.0 with Dunnel Option 3 kit (Circa 215bhp) as per here http://www.dunnellengines.com/zetec_carb_optionkits_3.php Bottom end was fully checked over when engine was built by local motorsport mechanic. As mentioned, this has not been run since the build so is basically brand new. Also comes with shallow wet sump, Water rail, lightweight motorsport alternator, 45 DCOE’s, Dunnel ECU & Wiring Loom. £4000 o.n.o. Also a Quaife QBM1M 4 speed sequential gearbox (https://shop.quaife.co.uk/quaife-in-line-4-speed-sequential-with-drop-gears) includes digital gear indicator, prop shaft, type 9 and Vauxhall bell housings and drop gear ratio kit, hydraulic clutch, again, very little use by previous owner so like new. - £3250. o.n.o. Also unfitted/unused Geartronics Easyshift ECU flatshifter - £250 Please PM me if interested in both or either, ideally would like to sell together. Thanks.
  17. 1999 1800 Zetec Westfield SeiW With regret I am selling my Westfield. This car is amazing, really clean and well look after. The car is built to a very high standard. The engine is a 1800 16v Zetec on twin Webers, producing approximately 150bhp, set up by Northampton Motorsport. It has a MT75 5 Speed gearbox, and a standard open differential. Interior is all black with Westfield bucket seats, it comes with wind wings, doors and full weather equipment that has never been used. As far as I know the car has never been driven in the wet. Tonneau cover and an indoor car cover are also included. If you are genuinely interested please get in touch for more information. More photographs available on request. 19. Zetec full exhaust system. Headers are OK but the standard silencer is a bit past it's sell by date (well I think so as it rattles with rust inside it) anyway will chuck that in for free. You could cut the end off it and renew whatever and re-pack it? Just a note, have passed trackday noise test with it so it may not be that bad. I have the aluminium heat-shield for it but needs one of the welds re doing where the jubilee clips goes to fasten it to the silencer. The headers are the standard Westfield 4 into 1 and will fit 1.8 Silvertop and 2.0 Blacktop engines as I have fitted then to the engines listed. It also has tapping for sensor. All the above for £100 collection only or WSCC courier Pic here https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/m6lZ4qCI3LK55DzW3OyQSfW3Fu2WYjAREqpjXJ0GjzpKQ6mJ4md8twISy5IgJo3yAYaF8Jl4T_S6-h1KvhnRB3P1cBkq9JwIQjzzKYC_dCrVyWBeGg6LQmX7WvcGKMu483PjJDFiJ6Vz0XZpDachtAus9RH2FX2axHZiPeaRtNDkAf9HZa9YU2X6Nny4IxdFz4X44Xbhlsfw7Q6Ril8HW4LMKNNVQLZTCNfXTfZ1NpeMi6234b7tMRi0yubaUM_2uoQbBfQ4_vo-McHcnK2OqGByrDFlC735KYBRgRzFAyUxLNaEW5oqB1TjuH2OXYMUYbbdsOAhl50RXWUPFZH2nvyqbyBSfWRkpJhLwYqIZHyAezzu1UxgVJRAXu-BZCeNRbdDUdusG2we44oRGCG6SoVPkr6JiwaSO2FZPFhkyyZiBxb8BN4I6_vwPehiacnFnJWC-jm7L9uhcPzOV4-vFoUgnyGV-IIljrMHswZYE0Qvf_587K9mKH0KuLdz2agXCsAaPaPvgH8GUaECppZ416tBH5AklvqJFefkX6Uoi9eN1MuiNub7xTZ3rTb4znkzmndi=w1586-h892-no Terry
  20. I'm currently in the process of fitting a BGH long 1st and heavy duty upgrade to my Type 9 and having split the bellhousing from the gearbox found it to very heavy. What is the best way to reduce this weight? - SPC website says that their alloy BH is 6 kgs lighter than the standard Ford iron BH are there any better options?
  21. Pair RH and LH factory engine mounting brackets to suit silvertop Zetec into SEI Wide chassis. Original condition, powder coated, and never used. Any offers?
  22. Hello All, I know this has been asked before but I just want to clarifiy I have a black top 2L Zetec with an MT75 Cable clutch gearbox. The starter is on the exhaust side and I'm struggling to get the car to start mostly when hot but now increasingly when cold as well. Strangely it does tend to start on jump leads from another car or from a jump start battery pack though I have a fairly new Odyssey Racing 25 battery in the passenger foot well and this seems to show ok voltage on my shift-I lights So... I'm in two minds whether to find a suitable standard Starter and give that a go, in this case I would need to find a part number as I'm sure it was an LR707 ? but if so I can't seem to find these anywhere? Get an uprated geared starter like a Brise Test a new battery, or replace all the new battery cable I put in when I installed the Odyssey battery with proper ones made to order (unless anyone out there can make battery cables and I can buy them from you?) My thoughts were to test the cheapest things like the cables first, then the starter for a standard starter then make a call on the battery or Brise starter after that Any ideas or help identifying the standard starter? Many thanks Kevn
  23. Now sold .. Very Reluctant sale of my 1800 Black SEIW, only purchased 8 weeks ago, but redundancy forces sale, i have done less than 100 miles so very sad. 24. I've just finished my install of a remote oil filter on my Zetec, and thought I'd share what I'd done as it took me a while to track down parts lists and location ideas from various threads here and on other forums. I decided to relocate the filter so that it remains quite close to the original position - to minimise oil line length whilst also making it easily accessible during oil changes (as it is now located just above the sump plug on my Raceline sump). I made up a mounting bracket with some flat alloy plate, and used some spare existing bolt holes on the block to mount it. The take off plate now clears the steering column quite well - and certainly much better than when the oil filter was located there! I sourced the parts from a combination of Think Auto and Rally Design (choosing whichever gave me the cheapest option). I used the following: 1x RFH3B (Remote filter head) 2x MMS10-8-8 (1/2" BSP to 1/2" NPTF) 2x HEFP93-8 (1/2" BSP 90-Degree for 1/2" hose) 2m FBN0800 (Socketless hose, 1/2" bore) 2x HEFP3-8 (1/2" BSP for 1/2" hose) 2x MMS3-8-8 (1/2"BSP to 1/2"BSP) 2x BS13/16 (Bonded seal 13/16" for 1/2BSP) 1x TOP01 (Take off plate)
