  1. For your attention! A WSCC Member, Phil ( @lloydox ) and Garage owner has kindly offered to host this event at his garage in Warrington to provide the opportunity to see how balanced the weight distribution is on your car and also to have a power run at Phil’s neighbours: https://www.dcremappinguk.com/ You can do one, both or just come along to watch. Costs £10, for corner weights and £30 for the Dyno Run (3 runs with a print out of the best run)- Cash payments only on the day to each garage. N.B. for both activities, time will not allow for adjustments to made to your vehicles, this session is only to benchmark or ‘draw a line in the sand’ as to how your vehicle currently is. Location Corner Weights: GasTech Warrington Ltd, Unit 8,Trinity Court,Birchwood, Warrington, WA3 6QT Dyno Run: DC Remapping LTD - Unit 20, Trinity Court, Birchwood, Warrington, WA3 6QT To hopefully make the day flow as smoothly as possible, please indicate your time slot preference below, with your forum name, by clicking on 'quote' on the last post below. CORNER WEIGHTS 9:00 9:15 9:30 9:45 10:00 10:15 10:30 10:45 11:00 @IanK (Bagpuss) 11:15 11:30 11:45 12:00 12:15 12:30 12:45 13:00 13:15 13:30 13:45 14:00 14:15 14:30 14:45 15:00 15:15 15:30 15:45 @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary As before, just ask if this time slot would suit you better, I’m there all day! Even though the two units are walking distance apart, please don’t book concurrent appointments if you’ve having both done. The time slots above are only an approximation and events on the day may move things around slightly! The corner weight system being used doesn’t print out, hence we’ll manually record the weights and vehicle registration numbers.

    Quick Dyno run!

Like many of us I am sure I wasn't alone in wishing to know just what power my car produces? I had been promising to get it done for about two years without success! Well I decided enough was enough I called one of my customers and asked if he was free to do it the next day, he was a bit busy but said if I got there early we could wiz it through a quick power run over a cup of tea. I arrived and it went on the dyno with no ground clearance issues etc and was strapped with cloths to protect the paintwork!! It was a little bit embarrassing as I removed and the bonnet and I showed them around the engine bay when Gordon noticed a broken wire! Air flow sensor disconnected, the shroud on the wiring was run all the way to the sensor which meant any movement was taken by a very small area of the wire thus broken. Luckily for me Gordon had the exact weather shielded connector so set about rewiring it and making sure it was routed with a little more room to move. doh Next we did a simple power run and all were a little surprised it produced what it was supposed to! Gordon commented it was probably the best standard zetec he'd seen, though he did comment it was probably the exhaust which makes the difference over a focus. The main point for me is not the numbers but to have a baseline test to know where I started, I have had a set of Omex throttle bodies waiting to go on for a year now but did'nt want to put them on until I had those figure so I can see the benefits from my future mods. My car just for info has a 2.0 zetec with standard injection and currently has around 5000 miles on it. Thanks to Gordon for the help. I paid Gordon £50 for the power run and fixing the wiring, he did ask for less than that but he often too cheap! http://www.streetracersgd.co.uk/

    Health Check Complete

Well after what was predicted to be a nice dry Friday this is what we got. I went for a 60 mile drive along A-Roads from Bristol upto BTEC Racing , Chipping Norton a few weeks later than most of the guys here who attended the Car Health Check Day. Got there in the dry, had the geometry all checked and it all seems near enough balanced without any adjustment. Left Front: 166.5kg Left Rear: 178.5kg Right Front: 159kg Right Rear: 180kg Overall Weight (1/2 tank of fuel) 684 kg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/w6f9dzyos9n41zu/photo%201.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/s/iuxswlkvrkg9bwz/photo%202.JPG https://www.dropbox.com/s/0rmwpc968uxnjr1/photo%203.JPG As for the dyno a pleasant and standard as expected 126 BHP (@ Fly) and 98 BHP (@Wheels) with 123 lb/ft, video here: Excuse the wet weather gear being on - it was pouring down and to aid getting in and out just peeled the top back. Now with these checks ticked off, and told the brake pads look pretty much like new I'm 'ready' for the track day health check. First time I've really driven the Westfield that distance bar the day I picked it up about 8 weeks ago and that was wet, first time, motorway, so a bit on edge, driven a few 10-30 mile round trips and around Bristol. Even in the rain, had a great time - even had a random guy on a bus stop put his thumb up to me on the way through a random village.
