  1. What MM says +1... There is something bizarrely satisfying in keeping a 40 year old engine on the road. And if its lasted 40 years already, with a bit of respect, no reason for it not to last another 40...

  2. I would be happy to help as we live near Fakenham. I'm not expert in all things Westfield but happy to chat and bring 10 years of Westfield ownership into the equation. Give me a call on 07887491212 if you like. Oh, and good luck with the start of your adventure!

  3. That's us home after a great trip round the NC500, ended up clocking a 1000miles in all weathers and no real issues. We had a wiper blade spring broke, were a friendly garage sorted it out, the bracket from the silencer gave way after the navigator took us off road and the bolt gave way, a bungee sorted that out for the rest of the trip and a battery replacement overall we got of light. If your every thinking of doing this trip, you need to book accommodation now for next year as the places go quick. Plenty of petrol places and applecross was a great road...

  6. A bit thank you to Ryan Edwards Exhausts for giving me some time and parts at very short notice so that I could patch my exhaust back together before Silverstone on Sunday. Ryan is based on the Bicester Heritage site. He does some great work and has done R&D for several major manufacturers. He's also always got some really interesting stuff in due to being based on the site. As a refreshing change to some of his competitors locally, he's also helpful and cheerful! Well worth a look if you need an exhaust making up, welding etc.

  7. I'm still planning on it, got the day off work and just got to sort a trailer which is easy enough....... I'll probably do the September one too, if I still have the right number of conrods in my engine that is. When are you booking up Darve? And what about SootySport?

  8. A neighbour of mine's thinks battery cars will be a nightmare (cost, weight, range, battery life and recycling; not to mention thieves removing your expensive batteries) and we should go straight to hydrogen power which can be refuelled quickly and use existing petrol stations.

  10. I'll do this one, too. Shall I book a garage? Think 2 or 3 cars can fit in one garage, can't they?

  12. I enquired earlier this year, the taller screen is about 50mm higher and is for a wide body, if you have side screens (doors) you will also need the taller ones, also if you have a half hood or full hood these are different as well. Prices are on the westfield parts site. Ian

  15. We recently toured for 11 days with @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO , 2 nights Glen Coe, 2 on Skye, 2 in Durness, 2 in the Orkneys, 1 in Aviemore and finally 2 in Killin. We were also joined for 4 days with @Garyt and @ziplob. I can honestly despite a few midges and it being mildly moist occasionally it was the best trip I've ever done in the UK. Great pics to.

  16. Like Fuel cells, the powers that be are not actually interested in a solution - there will be some corporate back scratching artificial solution with turns out to be a problem that then needs another solution which needs another 2 billion investment fund... Rinse and Repeat... going on here All the power that be have vested interests in perpetuating this for as long as possible...

  17. This is the viaduct used in the Harry Potter films. There is car parking and it is £2.00 per car but when the Jacobite steam train is due the carpark is really busy. There is a shop, café and also toilets. To get to the viaduct, you don't follow the obvious route. Leave the carpark, turn right and walk up the road until the next carpark area on the right. Ignore the path before the carpark. Walk through the carpark and the path will lead to the viaduct. It really is a lovely stop if you are in the area.
