  1. Great news! She made it! With Huge thanks to sparkymarts AKA Martin who lent me some doors. I really wouldn't have enjoyed the trip as much without them! The car ran great, was comfortable, and smooth enough with the dampers set to the softest setting. The only issues: Got very hot once after hitting standing traffic on the M4, had to pull over and turn it off to cool down. Have done some reading to attack thus. When the transmission is hot i get terrible juddering when i pull away in first. Even with plenty of revs. Any advice there id love to hear it. After a run and turning the car off, turning it back on it doesn't like to idle, just slowly lowers revs until cutting out. All can be addressed I'm sure, I'm just happy we are back in one piece!

  3. If you're desperate, you're welcome to a ride in mine, although I prefer to run solo, as my power to weight isn't the best!. If you talk nicely to Steve H he's usually good for a bit of on board ballast.. his car isn't as sensitive to weight, as he has way too much power!

  4. Evening all, I've just treated myself to a new race suit, leaving my 'old' one available for anyone who wants to borrow it. I appreciate buying all the kit can be a bit of a barrier to getting into motorsport so hopefully this will help. It's still in good condition and the correct spec, passed scrutineeting just 2 weeks ago. Size 54 so should do up about 40" waist and 6ft tall. No cost involved, all I ask is that it comes back to me in the same condition it gets to you - freshly washed and ready to wear Cheers! Adam

  5. Believe it or not there are only 8 weeks left until Stoneleigh 2017. You're not coming I hear you say, Get to your room and don't come out until you've seen sense. Its going to be a good one because you lot will be there. It doesn't work without you.

  6. As requested, the results for 2016 Speedseries have now been made available on the "New Format" website. I will endeavour to make a copy of the previous years too but they will probably be in PDF format . It took a little while to do and was quite complicated, so if you do find any mistakes, please let me know and I will get them fixed ASAP. Hopefully they will assist you all in monitoring and assisting you to improve your PB's. They are interlinked with each other for ease. 2016 (Archived) results for Experts 2016 (Archived) results for Novices Tiggs

  11. I wasn't sure if the Retroford was a lightened flywheel, so really it was just for comparison. Ian

  12. Cheers Ian, I've seen their stuff on Ebay too. Retroford do it slightly cheaper, and are highly recommended.

  13. @Quinten Uijldert - Northants AO maybe too late for you but would this be of use? Flywheel and states clutch and starter that fit. Ian

  14. Providing 1) my clutch is alright (seemed to be slipping a bit 2-up yesterday ), 2) I've had a good bit of decent track time in the morning and 3) you can fit in the seat / belts (they're a massive faff to adjust!), you're welcome in mine

  18. Agree that a decent box will transform the car (as noted on your other thread Ian) - my newly installed BGH E6 is superb! Can't believe the difference it makes to the drivability, every gear feels just perfectly spaced now, rather than frustratingly wrong! I just have to get used to 'not' going for 2nd the instant the car moves any more

  19. I fell for this by the way. I was very confused.

  20. If the clutch gets contaminated, it wont just stop working, it'll start slipping when trying to pull the car up to speed from low revs. (Mine started doing it on the motorway first) I'd run it through the summer and put an uprated box in in winter, a decent box will transform the car. Do keep an eye on the oil level though, I killed a box with low oil. Expensive lesson!

  22. The Bad Obsession Binky episodes are perfection for me. I do get that I am probably a minority audience though as I have absolutely zero interest in all the fake drama and personal sob stories that have become most of the content of what used to be decent shows like Car SOS, Wheels Dealers, GMG. b***hin' Rides is still mostly OK but they too are starting to spend less time on the nuts, bolts and metal and more on cheesy fake drama. Misanthrope, me? Er, guilty as charged.

  23. It's not too far away now so anything you want to get rid of and can easily transport can be put on the NKCS WSCC Stoneleigh AutoJumble. Have a look at this thread for more info.

  25. Sadly I am too far away to help, as could have helped get it out. Its easy enough and in a way quite 'therapeutic' , as you can tick the checks on the way through the car.

  30. Only says Lyon, Paris and Grenoble although we sometimes go to Paris. Be going to LM this year too, but we'll just ignore all the French laws like every other year
