  1. Great run out, with a convoy of 11 Westfields! Thanks Julie for arranging and the route, and sorry I couldn't hang around at the lunch stop.

  2. Great day out and really good to see so many Westfields in convoy, and good to see the great turn out at curborough to. I think it made a good impression on others attending the event with plenty showing an interest in our cars and asking questions

  3. Nice one John, really happy you have achieved this as you have consistently been at the sharp end for years, top stuff And Barny also, my spies inform me some top drives this year so again well deserved win. Looking forwards to a beer with all at the bash and hopefully get the car back out next year Cheers Barry

  4. Had a great day at Anglesey on Sunday watching the final round and some terrific driving as well as the usual paddock banter. Of particular note was the final run from Del, and the speech from Mr London. The speech was a reminder of what it takes to win a championship. and Del's run was storming, so good in fact that Jill needed an explanation as to why he was shaking so much! So, congratulations to our champion, it takes time and dedication, not to mention skill and talent to win, the cream is at the top again! As for the novices, there has been a year long battle and despite the oddities of Saturday, a worthy novice champion has emerged, well done Barney, we look froward to seeing you in experts for a few seasons to come. All the class champions in whatever car they run have had a challenge this year. Numbers may be down, but not the level of competition. To achieve any level of success in this championship you can be sure you are doing well. The drivers and cars throughout the speed series are some of the best in there classes. Our championship competitors likely hold the majority of class records, all as a result of the WSCC speed series, so congratulations one and all, not to mention the team of people who over the years have contributed there time and efforts to running the championship I've just had a text from last year's champion, he was at Anglesey yesterday, (he even drove the taxi) to ask me to post his congratulations to the new champion, and to Del for the storming T2 run that took the long standing target time/record from Craig Sampson in class H. We are all getting older, but some still get faster#

  5. Just thought I'd say hi. Having fancied a Westie for a long time I've just bought an SE 1700 kent and am reading-up on this very useful resource. I think I'll be changing the seats or at least getting some alternative seats for road use due to a dodgy back and wanting to take my 6 yr old as a passenger. So if anyone has anything a bit less track oriented do let me know. Ad

  6. Congratulations to Ben and his new future passenger, we will look out for the new thread 'how to fit a baby seat in a Westfield' I hope Pete is recovering well and able to join us again soon. The Westfield's have certainly and consistently overtaken the breakfast meet at Curborough this year. It is a brilliant place to meet up though, with it's central location and petrol theme. I will be watching for next years dates and will continue with the runs into the Peak District as it seems to be popular. I have really, really enjoyed today. We met at Curborough where a wide variety of cars were wizzing around the track as part of the Hillclimb and Sprint Association event, which included a rather fast orange duratec engined Westfield. The turn out was brilliant, extra to the cars that came for a run out there was Kevin with his 'neighbour', ok so we have met your mistress then, Paul bought his yellow VX220 that thinks it is a Westfield and little Jeff came along for his kiss, well 2 kisses actually, one on the way in and one on the way out, cheeky. Curborough The Westfield's were in a row behind me as far as my eye could see and amazingly we all kept together. It made for a very difficult photo, you can just about make everyone out, squint...a bit more...no, you can't really see them, but believe me they are all there. We circuited around the Peak District, up the Crowdecote road and back down to Newton House for about 1 pm, just in time for lunch. The views were lovely in the sunshine, the air was cool and the roads were dry, perfect. All that driving must have tired Trevor out The venue was excellent and the staff came out to photograph our cars for their website. Has Stu got his eyes shut too, we must get stronger coffee All too soon it was time to depart, straight onto the nice big, fast A515 and with no neighbours it is a venue that you can make a suitable exit, 25 second video. https://youtu.be/-6ZRxL-lNxA So I think everyone is up to date with the various changes to the cars and it has been great to all get together. If you want more there is the Helicopter Action in Buxton tomorrow, next weekend is the Klondyke Steam Party in Staffordshire and the return of The Matlock Mystery Tour the weekend after that. Did I mention the Santa Run on 4th December? Thank you everyone for coming and see you all soon.

  7. Here are some more: David Cleaver, always fast, and here on opposite lock if I'm not mistaken: Del Hodder, matching overalls, is this smart or what? Sometimes the novices get overlooked, so here's a couple; Simon Broadbridge: and Mike West: And at the other end of the experience spectrum, here is our former championship secretary/organiser: And last but not least, our present secretary.organiser, John:

  9. Well done to our 2 Champions John & Barney also to everyone else who took part and made this year a very enjoyable one. Highs & lows aside it's still a brilliant series to be part off. As Paul Aspden put into words far better than I could, I echo your comments Paul, well said

  10. That's a lot of car for the money! Looks great, shouldn't need to haggle on price at all.

  11. Craig (msisleman) and I are keen to get our cars strapped down for a power check. If we can get >10 cars together, ATSpeed in Rayleigh will take us for £40 each for 3 runs with BBQ and tea/coffee. Who's interested? [No idea on dates yet]
